Ask about a passage, have it explained in place, or translate it without leaving the page. From what you read, Winda writes flashcards and...

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Winda.app and Knowt.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Winda.app's answer

People who learn from material they bring themselves: exam candidates (CFA, PMP, CPA, GRE, GMAT), language learners, people reading papers, and anyone who has to master documents for work.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Winda.app's answer

  • TypeScript and React (TanStack Start) for the web app
  • WXT for the Chrome extension
  • PostgreSQL with Prisma
  • FSRS (ts-fsrs) for review scheduling
  • PDF.js for reading PDFs

What makes your product unique?

Winda.app's answer

Winda is a reader first. You read the original web page, PDF or YouTube transcript, with AI beside it to answer questions, explain a passage in place or translate it.

From what you read, Winda writes flashcards and multiple-choice questions, and every card links back to the passage it came from. Reviews are scheduled with FSRS, so each card comes back just before you would forget it.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Winda.app's answer

  • Compared with AI notebooks such as NotebookLM: they answer questions about your material, so what you end up reading is a summary. In Winda you read the source itself, and AI sits beside it.
  • Compared with flashcard apps such as Anki and Quizlet: you write the cards yourself or study someone else's deck. Winda writes cards from your own material, each with a link back to where it came from.
  • Reading and reviewing never use credits. Only AI actions do, and it's free to start with no credit card.

What's the story behind your product?

Winda.app's answer

I'm a software engineer preparing for the CFA Level 1 exam. I built Winda to use for my own studying.

Today I use it for two things: - Studying for CFA Level 1 - Helping my kid review English grammar
