I've found hosting Strapi (or similar) on Heroku has saved me the cost of keeping a server instance running, which usually would cost $5-10 per month.   I use MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid-2014) with Manjaro as OS using i3 as a window manager. It isn't perfect, but I'm thrilled with it.
