Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing WebAbility and UserWay.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

UserWay's answer:

Amazon Web Services, JavaScript & Webpack, Gatsby, and AI / Machine Learning

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

WebAbility's answer

Businesses and organizations that need to meet ADA, WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA, and Section 508 and want it genuinely fixed, not just reported. The strongest fit is higher-risk, public-facing sectors: ecommerce and online stores, healthcare, education, and agencies building sites for clients. The typical buyer is a founder, or a marketing, compliance, or web/development lead who owns the risk. Smaller site owners often enter through the free checker and widget, while the managed service serves teams that need hands-on remediation and documentation.

UserWay's answer:

Anyone who cares about user experiences and wants to expand their audience base.

What makes your product unique?

WebAbility's answer

WebAbility is built around fixing accessibility, not just flagging it. Most tools stop at a scan or bolt on an overlay widget and call it done. WebAbility combines automated corrections, human remediation, compliance documentation (an Accessibility Conformance Report / VPAT), and ongoing monitoring, so a site actually reaches WCAG conformance and stays there. The guiding line is simple: detection is the easy half, the fix is the product. It also offers a free, no-signup scanner as an honest entry point rather than a gated lead trap.

UserWay's answer:

Userway is built for everyone, and is designed to help everyone. Freelancers, startups, SMBs, and agencies all turn to Userway to enhance user experiences and improve their bottom line.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

WebAbility's answer

Most competitors are overlay or widget vendors that promise instant compliance from one line of code. Overlays alone do not remediate the underlying code, and that approach has drawn real legal scrutiny. WebAbility gives you the full cycle in one place: detect, fix, document, and monitor, including the documentation you can actually stand behind if challenged. You get real remediation and a defensible compliance position, not just a score or a script, and you can start free with no signup.

UserWay's answer:

Userway is has a free limited widget and a free accessibility checker to monitor how easy a site is to use - and with integrations with analytics tools like Google Analytics, website owners can manage their conversion rates and SEO rankings in live-time.

What's the story behind your product?

WebAbility's answer

WebAbility is a remote-first company, founded in 2018 and registered in Canada, with no physical offices. It was built on a straightforward conviction: the web should work for everyone, yet most accessibility tools stop at pointing out problems and leave the hardest part, the actual fix, to the customer. WebAbility set out to close that gap, giving businesses a way to move from a list of errors to a genuinely accessible, compliant site and to keep it that way as the site changes.

UserWay's answer:

UserWay was created in response to the widespread inaccessibility of websites and digital experiences for people with disabilities.

Allon Mason saw that millions of websites lacked proper accessibility features, effectively excluding users with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive impairments from full access to online content.

That's how the idea to build AI-powered tools that help website owners make their sites accessible without needing deep technical expertise was born.

Userway's mission is to make the web more accessible and inclusive for all, thus expanding audience bases and increasing user experiences for everyone.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

UserWay's answer:

Marketing agencies, legal services, HR teams, RevOps teams, content creators, web hosting services, and SaaS teams
