Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Weather 2 Weeks and Codegres.org.

What makes your product unique?

Weather 2 Weeks's answer

Forecast weather 14 days stands out by providing an extended 14-day hourly weather forecast with six interactive data visualizations — temperature, precipitation, cloud cover, wind, humidity, and atmospheric pressure — all rendered as interactive Highcharts graphs. Unlike most weather services that cap out at 7–10 days, it offers a full two-week outlook with detailed hourly breakdowns. The Users can toggle between chart and table views and switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit with session-based persistence.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Weather 2 Weeks's answer

It provides a clean, ad-light experience focused purely on weather data rather than overwhelming users with news, videos, and lifestyle content like major weather portals do. The interactive charts make it easy to spot weather trends across the full 14-day window at a glance — something most competitors don't offer in such visual detail. It's fast thanks to server-side rendering with intelligent multi-layer caching, works great on mobile, and supports multilingual access. The detailed hourly data includes metrics often buried or missing on other platforms: UV index, atmospheric pressure in mmHg, wind gusts, and cloud cover percentages.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Weather 2 Weeks's answer

The primary audience includes travelers planning trips who need reliable extended forecasts, outdoor enthusiasts (hikers, sailors, farmers, event planners) who depend on detailed multi-day weather data, and general users in worldwide who want a straightforward, visual way to check upcoming weather. People who prefer data-rich, chart-based weather visualization over simplified icon-only forecasts are the core user base.

What's the story behind your product?

Weather 2 Weeks's answer

Forecast weather 14 days started as forecast.lv — a Latvian weather forecast site built to provide a faster, cleaner alternative to existing weather services in Latvia. It grew out of a desire to present weather data visually through interactive charts rather than static tables. As the project matured, it expanded internationally with weather5days.com for 5-day global forecasts and weather2weeks.com for extended 14-day forecasts, broadening its reach beyond the Baltic region to serve users worldwide.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Weather 2 Weeks's answer

The platform is built with React UI. The UI uses Material-UI (MUI) and Highcharts for interactive weather visualizations. The backend runs on Node.js with Express.js, uses PostgreSQL for data storage.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Weather 2 Weeks's answer

Forecast weather 14 days is a free, consumer-facing weather service — it doesn't have traditional B2B customers. Its users are everyday people checking weather forecasts. The site serves thousands of visitors from Latvia and internationally, with a strong user base in the Baltic region through forecast.lv. Popular searched cities include Riga, London, New York, and other major global destinations, reflecting the diverse geographic reach of its audience.
