For those following this thread: I've just discovered a tool called Vysor which allows you to control your fire tv from another device (like your laptop). It's not a native remote.. I use LetsView. It’s a free phone app and PC app that lets you stream your phone screen. I also bought an adapter that lets me plug an ethernet cable into my phone for better stream quality, but LetsView has been all I’ve needed. Source: almost 2 years ago
