Camera data stays on your device, and the app works without installation, sign-up, or subscription.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing VS Code and SitCoach.

What's the story behind your product?

SitCoach's answer:

I slouch... a lot. So itโ€™s basically a tool that I built for myself. And I donโ€™t want to enrich myself off other peopleโ€™s back (pain), so itโ€™s free, and Iโ€™m trying to get some sponsors.

What makes your product unique?

SitCoach's answer:

SitCoach is free, browser-based, and privacy-first. It detects posture with your webcam locally on your device, so users get real-time posture feedback without installing software, creating an account, or uploading camera data.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

SitCoach's answer:

Choose SitCoach if you want the lowest-friction way to get posture feedback while working. Many posture apps require a native install, an account, a paid plan, or fixed timer reminders. SitCoach runs in the browser, is free to use, and nudges you based on your actual posture instead of reminding you on a schedule.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

SitCoach's answer:

SitCoach is for desk workers, remote workers, students, and anyone who loses posture awareness while focusing at a computer. It is especially useful for people who do not want another desktop app, wearable, subscription, or account.

For IDE-heavy teams, BYOK (bring your own key) can be interesting, no matter whether you live in WebStorm or VS Code. Option 1: Raw editing in IDE. You open the .md file in VS Code or whatever you use. Syntax highlighting shows you the structure. Maybe you toggle a preview pane. This works for quick edits but becomes painful for anything involving tables, diagrams, or complex formatting. - Source: dev.to / about 1 month ago

You'll need Python 3.8+ and pip for the quickstart, with venv recommended for isolation. Install the requests library for HTTP calls. VS Code with the Python extension works well as an editor, though PyCharm or Sublime Text work equally well. You'll also need a free Foxit developer account. - Source: dev.to / about 2 months ago
