Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing VS Code and JobLeads.

What's the story behind your product?

JobLeads's answer:

JobLeads was founded in 2007 by Christian von Ahlen, Martin Schmidt, and Jan Hendrik von Ahlen, with the goal of changing how job seekers experience their search. They saw that many job boards catered primarily to employers, leaving candidates to deal with fragmented listings and unclear processes. With early funding from High-Tech Grรผnderfonds and several angel investors, they built up their technology to aggregate job listings from many sources and to support users in more than just finding roles, offering resume help, interview prep, alerts, and other career tools.

Over time, JobLeads expanded globally (operating in over 40 countries) and continued to add personalization, automation, and user-support services, while keeping its mission focused on helping job seekers land better jobs faster.

What makes your product unique?

JobLeads's answer:

JobLeads goes beyond being a standard job board by aggregating roles from hundreds of thousands of sources worldwide, while also giving access to hidden opportunities through its headhunter network. It combines this broad job coverage with tailored tools such as free CV reviews, personalized job search assessments, and expert coaching to help candidates optimize applications and succeed in interviews. With global reach, a proven track record of helping professionals land roles faster, and strong credibility backed by user trust, JobLeads positions itself as a one-stop solution for ambitious job seekers aiming for their next career move.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

JobLeads's answer:

  • More opportunities: Aggregates jobs from hundreds of thousands of sources, plus exclusive access to unpublished roles via its headhunter network.

  • Personalized support: Free CV review, job search assessment, and expert coaching to improve application success.

  • Efficiency & focus: Tailored job alerts and tools designed to help you land interviews faster and with less wasted effort.

  • Global reach & credibility: Millions of users in 40+ countries, strong reviews, and proven track record of placing professionals in top companies.

In short, JobLeads combines breadth of job coverage with exclusive opportunities and personalized guidance, helping professionals secure better jobs faster.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

JobLeads's answer:

Our primary audience is ambitious jobseekers who are actively looking to advance their careers, whether by moving into leadership roles, exploring new industries, or finding better opportunities worldwide. We donโ€™t work for recruiters or headhunter networks โ€” our main priority is always the jobseeker and their wellbeing. That means every feature we offer, from aggregated job listings and hidden opportunities to personalized career tools and coaching, is designed to empower individuals, make their job search more effective, and help them land the right role faster and with confidence.
