  • One diagram, two views. Sketch fast in a clean, card-based view, then flip to formal BPMN 2.0 notation with a single click — swimlanes, gateways, start/end events, all correctly rendered — when it's time to present.
  • Context most tools throw away. Every step can carry the role responsible, the tool/system it runs on, its input and output, and a comment — so a diagram doubles as real process documentation, not just a pretty picture.
  • Client-ready exports. PDF and PNG for quick sharing, or fully editable PowerPoint (PPTX) when a client needs to tweak it themselves.
  • No seat minimums. Many tools force small teams to pay for five seats to use one. Flowpainter doesn't.
  • Cloud-synced. Log in from any device and pick up exactly where you left off.

They value speed and clarity over deep configurability, and they're usually the ones both drawing the diagram and presenting it to the client or team.

What's the story behind your product?

Flowpainter grew out of a simple frustration: process diagrams either come out of a generic flowchart tool that doesn't understand who owns a step or what system it runs on, or out of a full BPMN suite built for process-automation engineers running execution engines — overkill for someone who just needs a clear, professional diagram for a client. Flowpainter started as a personal tool to bridge that gap, built around the idea that a diagram should double as real documentation (role, tool, input/output, comments per step) while staying as quick to use as a sketch. It's an independent, solo-built product, still early — shaped directly by feedback from its first users.
