Respectlytics โ Open Source, Privacy-First Mobile App Analytics
Respectlytics is a mobile analytics platform built around one idea: the best way to protect sensitive data is to never collect it. We call this Return of Avoidance (ROA).
Every event stores exactly 5 fields: event name, session ID, timestamp, platform, and country. The API rejects anything extra โ it's impossible to accidentally send personal data. No user IDs, no device IDs, no IP addresses stored, no cookies, no custom properties. Session IDs live only in RAM, rotate every 2 hours, and reset on each app launch.
Despite minimal data, Respectlytics delivers powerful insights. Automated conversion intelligence discovers conversion paths, calculates lift scores, and identifies drop-off points; and zero manual funnel setup required. The real-time dashboard includes active user metrics, interactive geographic visualization, custom funnel builder, and event tracking.
Official open-source SDKs for Swift, Kotlin, Flutter, and React Native. Integration takes two lines of code and two methods: configure, track. All SDKs include offline queuing, automatic retries, and batching.
Both server (AGPL-3.0) and SDKs (MIT) are fully open source. Self-host the Community Edition free with Docker and PostgreSQL โ no complex infrastructure needed. The managed cloud runs on EU data centers with auto-scaling and zero DevOps.
Built for developers in healthcare, fintech, education, and enterprise SaaS where data minimization matters. With only 5 fields to declare, filling out Apple and Google privacy forms takes minutes.
Transparent about what's collected. Defensible by design. Clear about why each field exists.

Respectlytics's answer:
Respectlytics is the only analytics platform built around Return of Avoidance (ROA), avoiding data collection rather than trying to anonymize it afterward. The API stores exactly 5 fields per event and architecturally rejects anything else with a 400 error. It's impossible to accidentally send personal data. On top of that, it auto-discovers conversion paths, lift scores, and drop-off points with zero manual funnel setup; providing powerful insights from minimal data.
Respectlytics's answer:
Mass majority of competitors collect device IDs, IP addresses, advertising identifiers, and unlimited custom properties โ data you then have to explain in privacy policies and consent dialogs. Respectlytics stores only 5 fields, keeps session IDs in RAM only, and still delivers automated conversion intelligence. Respectlytics does not allow multi-session tracking by its design. It's fully open source so you can audit every line. Filling out Apple's privacy nutrition labels and Google's Data Safety forms takes minutes instead of hours.
Respectlytics's answer:
Mobile app developers / companies who care about or need strict privacy โ especially those building in healthcare, fintech, education, and enterprise SaaS where data minimization isn't optional. Also indie developers and lean teams who want useful analytics without the overhead of managing consent flows, cookie banners, and complex privacy compliance. If you've ever looked at an analytics SDK and thought "why does it need all this data?", Respectlytics is certainly for you.
Respectlytics's answer:
Frustration. I am a mobile developer with 6+ years of experience who got frustrated that every analytics tool collected far more data than needed; device IDs, advertising identifiers, precise locations, and a lot more, data I would then have to justify in privacy policies and consent dialogs. There are some solutions out there that claim to be privacy friendly but they are either not open source, or their marketing does not align with their implementation from the point of privacy compliance. I decided to build an analytics platform that answers "what happened in my app?" without answering "who did it?". Respectlytics is bootstrapped with no VC funding where privacy is the business model, not data monetization.
Respectlytics's answer:
Django, Django REST Framework, PostgreSQL, Tailwind CSS, Gunicorn, MaxMind GeoLite2 for geolocation, Docker for self-hosted deployments. SDKs are native: Swift for iOS/macOS, Kotlin for Android, Dart for Flutter, and TypeScript for React Native.
