I am a mobile developer with 6+ years of experience who got frustrated that every analytics tool collected far more data than needed; device IDs, advertising identifiers, precise locations, and a lot more, data I would then have to justify in privacy policies and consent dialogs. There are some solutions out there that claim to be privacy friendly but they are either not open source, or their marketing does not align with their implementation from the point of privacy compliance. I decided to build an analytics platform that answers "what happened in my app?" without answering "who did it?". Respectlytics is bootstrapped with no VC funding where privacy is the business model, not data monetization.
