Lua is quite small, encouraging distros to include it. The ubuntu gvim has, and the gvim AppImage linked from vim.org does. The default Makefile from github is set up to not include it, but you can uncomment one line there to get it. Source: over 1 year ago
I've not used vimwiki locally (tho I'm old enough to remember the Vim wiki on vim.org :), but I think what you are wanting to do is extend vimwiki's syntax file. I presume it installs one at $VIMRUNTIM/syntax or or ~/.vim/syntax. If this sounds right, then create a ~/.vim/after/syntax/vimwiki.vim file and place your match command in there. The best part about Tiptap is that it's headless, which means you can customize and create your rich text editor however you want. No good tool is built without using good tools, and Vrite Editor is no different. Before getting into WYSIWYG editors, I extensively researched available RTE frameworks, that could provide the tooling and functionality I was looking for. Ultimately, I picked TipTap and underlying ProseMirror — IMO, the best tools currently available for all kinds of WYSIWYG editors. - Source: dev.to / 11 months ago
