FixyFlow is the customer communication layer for repair and service businesses. Turn every work order into a live tracking page with automatic SMS updates โ€” customers stop calling to ask "is it ready yet?" and you stop losing hours to status phone tag.

Small service operators running 5โ€“200 work orders a month: phone and electronics repair, auto repair, dry cleaners and tailors, HVAC and plumbing, jewelers and locksmiths, bicycle and furniture repair, appliance service. Particularly strong for the "first CRM" shop still tracking jobs in a notebook or spreadsheet.

  • Log a job in 30 seconds; customer gets an instant SMS with a tracking link
  • Tap to update status through fully customizable stages (Received โ†’ Diagnosing โ†’ Parts โ†’ Repairing โ†’ Ready). Every move auto-texts the customer.
  • Live tracking page โ€” customers see their own status, ETA, and photos. No app, no login, any phone.
  • Two-way messaging through the tracking page
  • Automatic Google review asks when a job completes โ€” more 5-star reviews on autopilot
  • Pickup reminders, stale-job alerts, estimate approvals, photo attachments, Stripe payment links
  • Canadian A2P 10DLCโ€“registered Twilio SMS, fully compliant in CA and US.

Most shop management tools try to be everything: CRM, invoicing, scheduling, dispatch, inventory, ticketing. FixyFlow does one thing โ€” customer communication โ€” and runs alongside whatever you already use. Keep Jobber, RepairShopr, Shop-Ware, Mitchell1, Tekmetric, or pen-and-paper. FixyFlow owns the text layer. No data sync, no double entry.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Vim and FixyFlow.

What makes your product unique?

FixyFlow's answer:

FixyFlow does one thing โ€” customer communication โ€” and runs alongside whatever you already use (Jobber, RepairShopr, Shop-Ware, Tekmetric, or pen and paper). Most shop management tools try to replace your entire workflow. FixyFlow just owns the SMS, tracking page, and review-ask layer so customers stop calling to ask "is it ready yet?" โ€” no data sync, no double entry, setup in under 5 minutes.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

FixyFlow's answer:

Three reasons. (1) No migration โ€” FixyFlow sits beside your existing tools instead of replacing them, so you don't retrain staff or move data. (2) Priced for solo operators at $15/mo rather than $150โ€“300/mo for full shop management suites. (3) Direct founder support โ€” emails reach a real person, not a ticket queue. The free trial is 14 days, no credit card, and setup takes under 5 minutes.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

FixyFlow's answer:

Small service business owners running 5โ€“200 work orders a month: phone and electronics repair, auto repair andcollision, dry cleaners and tailors, HVAC and plumbing, jewelers and locksmiths, bicycle and furniture repair, appliance service. Particularly strong fit for "first CRM" customers โ€” shops still tracking jobs in a notebook or spreadsheet and drowning in status phone calls.

What's the story behind your product?

FixyFlow's answer:

I (Lasse) used to own a computer repair shop and spent a lot of time on admin/following up on customers, playing phone tag and getting interrupted during repairs. So I decided to do something about it, I wanted an elegant, simple solution that allows both the customer to be delighted as well as saves time and money for the service business. So I created what I like to call the "customer happiness layer" FixyFlow!

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

FixyFlow's answer:

Next.js 15 (App Router) + TypeScript + React + Tailwind CSS on the frontend. Drizzle ORM with Postgres (Supabase) for the database.

Vim mentions (10)

  • regular Vim has lua?!
Lua is quite small, encouraging distros to include it. The ubuntu gvim has, and the gvim AppImage linked from vim.org does. The default Makefile from github is set up to not include it, but you can uncomment one line there to get it. Source: over 3 years ago
  • is there a way to make highlighted text persistent after quit when using something like [match Search /\%'.line('.').'l/] ?
I've not used vimwiki locally (tho I'm old enough to remember the Vim wiki on vim.org :), but I think what you are wanting to do is extend vimwiki's syntax file. I presume it installs one at $VIMRUNTIM/syntax or or ~/.vim/syntax. If this sounds right, then create a ~/.vim/after/syntax/vimwiki.vim file and place your match command in there. Then everytime you open a vimwiki file it should apply your... Source: over 3 years ago
  • vim.org - Is there a reason for this 1800s-esque design?
Vim.org has 242k total visitors, tailwindcss.com has 4.4m, planetscale.com has 412k, jpl.nasa.gov has 2.6m, all built with Tailwind, all several years younger than Vim's website. Unnecessary comparison, unnecessary defence. It's a valuable tool, fine, but a complete disregard for anyone who doesn't love a crappy website and would like to navigate a website like a normal human is not something to be defended. Maybe... • What is YOUR process of writing ?
I write in Vim with some customizations in my vimrc to gear it more towards prose writing than code editing. It's not pretty, but Normal Mode and Ex commands are the most powerful text editing tools out there, so that means I spend less time on making corrections and other edits. Source: over 4 years ago
