Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Vim Python IDE and TradersForge.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

TradersForge's answer:

Active retail and prop-firm (funded) traders โ€” day and swing traders across futures, options, stocks, forex, and crypto. The sweet spot is futures and prop-firm traders who need to track drawdown rules and build discipline, but it fits any active trader who wants real analysis, not just a logbook.

What makes your product unique?

TradersForge's answer:

TradersForge pairs a full trading journal with two things most journals lack: live prop-firm drawdown tracking (trailing/EOD/static rules + breach alerts across 13 firms) and an AI Mentor Cascade โ€” per-trade reviews that roll up into daily, weekly, and monthly coaching. It connects directly to NinjaTrader, Tradovate, and Tastytrade (plus SnapTrade and CSV), with a TradingView Advanced Chart on every trade. Built for futures and prop-firm traders, not just stock investors.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

TradersForge's answer:

Most journals stop at "here's what you did." TradersForge tells you what to fix โ€” AI reviews surface behavioral patterns (overtrading, revenge trades, size creep) that raw stats miss. It's also one of the few journals with first-class prop-firm support: link an account to its firm's plan and it applies the correct drawdown math automatically, with breach-proximity alerts. TradingView charts are on every tier, there's a real free plan, and paid plans start at $9/mo.

What's the story behind your product?

TradersForge's answer:

TradersForge was built by an active trader frustrated that every journal stopped at logging trades โ€” none told you what to actually fix. Many trading journals had desired features for the founder but came up short in other areas. The goal was to combine journaling, real analytics, prop-firm rule tracking, community forum, and AI coaching in one place. Hence the tagline: Sharpen Your Edge.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

TradersForge's answer:

Next.js (React) on Vercel, Supabase (PostgreSQL), Stripe for billing, TradingView Advanced Charts, and Anthropic's Claude for AI trade reviews. Broker connectivity via direct OAuth (NinjaTrader, Tradovate, Tastytrade) and SnapTrade, plus CSV import.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

TradersForge's answer:

TradersForge serves individual traders, not named enterprise accounts.
