KromaStudio.in's answer:
KromaStudio is not just a code-screenshot tool โ it is a 3-in-1 visual studio in the browser: Code mode (syntax-highlighted snippets), Mockup mode (browser and device frames around real screenshots), and Content mode (10 social templates โ Tweet, LinkedIn, metrics, announcements, etc.).
What sets it apart from Ray.so and Carbon:
All three workflows in one free tool โ competitors focus mainly on code cards; KromaStudio also does product mockups and social post graphics without Figma. Animated .webm export (60 fps) โ Float, 3D Tilt, and Auto Scroll loops for X, LinkedIn, and Product Hunt; Ray.so and Carbon are mostly static PNG/SVG. 100% client-side โ code and images are processed in your browser; nothing is uploaded to a server (important for proprietary or NDA code). No sign-up, no watermark paywall, no export limits โ unlike Snappifyโs free tier (watermark, storage limits) or Carbonโs account features for saved snippets. MIT open source โ inspect, fork, or self-host from GitHub.

Ray.so (Raycast team) Fast, minimal code cards; ~30 themes; PNG/SVG; URL params for automation KromaStudio adds browser mockups, 10 social templates, animated .webm, headline overlays, and 1รโ4ร PNG โ still free, no account
Carbon.now.sh 150+ themes, SVG, CLI (carbon-now-cli), huge community KromaStudio is simpler for launch visuals: mockups + motion + social cards in one UI; also, MIT and client-side
Snappify Rich editor, slides, AI explanations, VS Code plugin Paid for watermark-free ($5+/mo); KromaStudio is fully free for HD PNG and .webm with no snap storage limits
Figma / Photoshop Full design control
KromaStudio is instant โ paste code or drop a screenshot, export in under a minute

KromaStudio.in's answer:
KromaStudio was built by Ritesh Kumar after noticing that great code and products were often shared as flat, boring screenshots on social feeds โ while polished visuals usually meant Figma, paid tools, or sign-up walls.
The idea started as a simple fix: drop a screenshot, add a browser frame and gradient, export โ no login, no watermark tricks. It grew into a full studio with Shiki-powered code highlighting, 15 developer-favorite themes, browser and device frames, social templates, and client-side animated .webm export.
The project was shared on DEV Community and launched on Product Hunt as a free, open-source tool at kromastudio.in โ built with Next.js and React, hosted on Vercel, with a focus on speed, privacy, and โpaste โ polish โ post.โ
