GenSpend is a Chrome extension and dashboard that automatically tracks what your AI creative tools actually cost.

Most AI creators have the same blind spot: AI work now spans a dozen tools, each with its own credit system and pricing โ€” Magnific, Kling, Runway, ElevenLabs, Midjourney and more. Individually they feel cheap. Together, by the time the bill arrives, it's impossible to tell what a single finished project cost to produce.

GenSpend runs quietly in the background, capturing your generation activity across 17+ AI tools, reconciling every credit system into real dollars, and showing your true cost:

  • Per tool โ€” what each platform is actually costing you
  • Per client โ€” attribute spend to the work it belongs to
  • Per finished deliverable โ€” the true cost of one completed piece, across every tool used to make it

That last metric โ€” deliverable cost โ€” is what no other tool provides, and it's what makes accurate pricing and client billing possible.

GenSpend also handles client invoicing and multi-currency reports, and the entire product is available in 7 languages.

Who it's for: AI filmmakers, generative-AI creators, solo producers, and small studios billing clients for AI-generated work โ€” anyone running creative projects across multiple paid AI tools who needs to know their real costs.

Pricing: $29.95/month, with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Vim Python IDE and GenSpend.

What's the story behind your product?

GenSpend's answer:

GenSpend was built by a working AI filmmaker who got tired of not knowing what his own AI tools were costing him. Spend was scattered across a dozen vendors, each with its own credit system, with no way to tie any of it back to the project it paid for. GenSpend is the tool he wanted: one ledger that answers what was generated, where, and what it cost.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

GenSpend's answer:

A Chrome (Manifest V3) browser extension paired with a Next.js web application. Payments via Stripe.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

GenSpend's answer:

Solo AI filmmakers, content producers, and small studios who use multiple paid AI-generation tools (video, image, audio, upscaling) and need to know what their work actually costs โ€” especially anyone billing clients for AI-generation work who needs an accurate, defensible cost figure.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

GenSpend's answer:

General expense tools (Expensify, Ramp) and API-cost dashboards (Helicone, Langfuse, PromptLayer) weren't built for AI creative work. They don't understand vendor credit systems or connect spend to a finished deliverable. GenSpend captures generation activity automatically across 17+ AI creative vendors, reconciles each one's credits into real dollars, and ties cost to the specific project or client it belongs to.

What makes your product unique?

GenSpend's answer:

Most spend trackers stop at "you spent $40 on Runway this month." GenSpend goes further with Deliverable Cost Intelligence: it shows the true total cost of producing one finished piece across every AI tool used to make it. For creators billing clients or pricing their work, that per-deliverable number is the one that actually matters โ€” and nothing else surfaces it.
