Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Vim Python IDE and Baunze.

What makes your product unique?

Baunze's answer:

Baunze converts a single photo into a fully interactive 3D scene in seconds. Unlike mood boards or static renders, you get a real 3D room you can rearrange, and customize. You can also scan any piece of furniture you find online or in a store and place it directly in your scene to see how it fits.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Baunze's answer:

Most interior design tools either give you flat 2D mood boards or require you to manually build a room from scratch in 3D. Baunze does neither, you start from a photo of your actual room and get an interactive 3D scene automatically. No floor plan drawing, no manual measurements. Just snap a photo and start designing.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Baunze's answer:

Anyone who wants to visualize changes to their living space before committing, homeowners redecorating, renters planning a new layout, people moving into a new place. Also useful for interior design enthusiasts who want to experiment with furniture placement and styles without the guesswork.

What's the story behind your product?

Baunze's answer:

I saw my friends redecorating their apartment and get frustrated with the gap between imagining how a room could look and actually seeing it. Existing tools either felt like toy mood boards or required CAD-level effort. So I built Baunze, a way to go from a phone photo to an interactive 3D room in seconds. I built it solo from the ground up, combining AI for room analysis with React Three Fiber for the 3D experience.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Baunze's answer:

React Three Fiber for the 3D rendering, multiple VLM for room analysis and depth estimation, Next.js for the web app, Express for the backend, React Native for mobile, MongoDB, and AWS for infrastructure.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Baunze's answer:

We just launched so we don't have big-name customers yet. We're focused on getting early adopters and collecting feedback to shape the product.
