SMS APIs shouldn't cost a fortune or lock you into a single provider or worse block your country. I built Vendel because I needed a simple way to send SMS messages using the devices I already owned โ Android phones and USB modems โ without paying per-message fees to Twilio or similar services. The idea started when I realized that most SMS use cases (OTP codes, notifications, alerts) don't need carrier-grade infrastructure. They just need a reliable gateway that routes messages through real devices. So I built one. Any contribution is welcomed!
