ValueEQ is a Business Valuation Software 2.0 built for finance professionals who need instant access to institutional-grade data and tools without the inefficiency of legacy solutions. With 60,000+ public company comps, 60,000+ M&A deals parsed daily, and an end-to-end suite of valuation tools (WACC, DCF, multiples, and more), ValueEQ empowers analysts, consultants, and investors to deliver insights with speed, accuracy, and defensibility.

The Problem with Traditional Platforms

  • Outdated Data: Legacy tools often rely on quarterly updates or delayed reporting, leading to stale comparables.
  • High Costs: Platforms like Capital IQ or PitchBook lock users into inflexible contracts costing tens of thousands annually.
  • Fragmented Workflows: Analysts juggle multiple tools (Excel add-ins, databases, and manual data cleaning) just to produce a defensible valuation.
  • Slow Turnarounds: In deal-making, time is money โ€” but traditional methods force analysts to spend hours gathering and validating comps.

ValueEQโ€™s Solution

ValueEQ is designed as the modern alternative: one integrated workspace where all valuation tasks can be completed seamlessly. It combines global datasets, AI-driven parsing, and analyst-friendly workflows to ensure results are faster, cleaner, and compliant with International Valuation Standards (IVS).

Key Differentiators:

  • AI-Powered Insights โ€“ Natural language queries (โ€œFind SaaS acquisitions in Europe under โ‚ฌ200mโ€) return clean comp sets in seconds.
  • Global Coverage โ€“ 120+ countries, 70+ exchanges, and tens of thousands of private & public comps.
  • Real-Time Deal Flow โ€“ M&A transactions parsed within hours of filing, with multiples extracted and normalized.
  • Valuation Workflows โ€“ WACC calculators, DCF engines, DLOM models, and report generators in one place.
  • Flexible Pricing โ€“ Solo plans at โ‚ฌ99/mo and team plans at โ‚ฌ240/mo โ€” up to 90% cheaper than legacy competitors.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing ValueEQ and Grapple.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

ValueEQ's answer

  • Capital IQ: Expensive, slow, outdated interface. โ†’ ValueEQ offers faster updates and modern usability at 90% lower cost.
  • PitchBook: Strong VC coverage but weaker on valuation standards. โ†’ ValueEQ offers IVS-compliant ratios.

Grapple's answer:

Grapple is built for small to medium-sized companies who haven't successfully implemented traditional BI software like Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or other solutions like DataRails and Domo. Traditional BI software requires a lot of technical knowledge to setup, maintain, and they often make it really difficult for less technical users to customize. This means your dashboards either 1) don't work, or 2) aren't flexible and easy to use enough to let operators adjust them as they need during the course of businesses.

Grapple is designed from the beginning for non-technical operators across marketing, sales, and finance.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

ValueEQ's answer

  • Private Equity Firms: Sourcing and valuing acquisition targets faster.
  • M&A Advisors & Valuation Consultants: Producing defensible, IVS-compliant valuations for clients.
  • Investment Banks: Supporting fairness opinions and deal pricing.
  • Corporate Finance Teams: Benchmarking competitors and building strategic plans.
  • Venture Capital & Startups: Assessing valuation benchmarks during fundraising.

Grapple's answer:

Grapple is great for data savvy operators who love working with data. We're particularly helpful for companies with 25 to 500 employees who serve other businesses (B2B) and are focused on improving their CRM analytics and SaaS metrics. If you're using apps like Salesforce, Hubspot, Zendesk, Stripe, or Asana, Grapple is for you!

If you want to write data notebooks in python or SQL and want under-the-hood control of your data stack, Grapple is not for you. We recommend you try Omni or Hex.

What's the story behind your product?

ValueEQ's answer

Business valuation is one of the most complex and high-stakes activities in finance. From private equity firms sourcing their next acquisition, to M&A advisors preparing fairness opinions, to corporate finance teams benchmarking performance, accurate and timely valuation data is critical. Yet, most professionals still rely on outdated, fragmented platforms that are expensive, cumbersome, and slow. ValueEQ is changing that.

Grapple's answer:

Jack, co-founder/CEO, had the idea for Grapple a couple years ago after spending almost a decade building in Tableau, Looker, Google Data Studio, Trevor.io, and the list goes on! Jack spent a lot of time collaborating with non-technical users in sales, marketing, bizops, finance on dashboards and after one particularly simple report that was still difficult to generate, he thought there must be a better way! Turns out, most data platforms require a ton of other tools and a ton of other people all of which are slow and expensiveโ€”delaying your time-to-insight. Jack had the idea to compress the data stack into a single tool, that maybe couldn't do everything, but would be the fastest, easiest way to pull the types of reports he pulled all the time over the last 10 years. Fast-forward to today, Andrew joined as co-founder/CTO and Grapple is now generally available and includes a suite of AI features to take Grapple's speed and ease of use even further. Let us know what you think!

What makes your product unique?

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Grapple's answer:

Grapple's application layer is written in React + Laravel and under the hood uses a mixture of PostgreSQL and No-SQL to deliver data warehousing and analytics capabilities.
