TableToSQL is more than a basic CSV-to-SQL converter. It provides a visual SQL generation workflow where users can upload Excel or CSV files, paste tabular data, configure column names and data types, choose how each column is used, and preview the resulting SQL before generating the complete script. Depending on the statement, columns can be visually assigned to INCLUDE, SET, or WHERE. TableToSQL supports INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, and SELECT for SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle, as well as JSON and XML output. All processing happens locally in the browser, so users' data is not uploaded to or stored on TableToSQL servers.

It is especially useful for people who need to quickly prepare data for database inserts, updates, deletes, queries, testing, migrations, data fixes, or repetitive database operations without manually writing hundreds of SQL statements. It is also suitable for students and people learning SQL who want a visual and straightforward way to understand how tabular data translates into SQL scripts.

What's the story behind your product?

TableToSQL's answer:

TableToSQL started from a problem I repeatedly faced in my own work as a software developer. I often received data in Excel that needed to be transformed into SQL statements, and the usual solution was building formulas that concatenated cell values to generate SQL. It worked, but it was repetitive, time-consuming, and surprisingly easy to get wrong. A small spreadsheet reference mistake can still generate perfectly valid SQL while using the wrong data, making the error difficult to notice before it reaches the database. That experience made me think there had to be a safer and simpler way. I built TableToSQL to eliminate that repetitive process: paste or import the data, configure how the columns should be used, preview the result, and generate the SQL directly from the source data instead of relying on manually constructed spreadsheet formulas. What began as a tool to solve a problem from my own development work gradually evolved into the free web application available today, with support for multiple SQL operations, database engines, Excel and CSV files, as well as JSON and XML output.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

TableToSQL is primarily built with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Bootstrap for the web interface. Handsontable is used for spreadsheet-style data editing and manipulation. The application performs its data parsing, validation, type detection, and SQL/JSON/XML generation directly in the browser using client-side JavaScript. The PRO desktop edition is built with Tauri and TypeScript, providing a lightweight native desktop application while reusing the core web-based experience. The web application is hosted on Azure Static Web Apps.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

TableToSQL's answer:

We don't rank our users by size. Every TableToSQL user is important to us, whether they're an independent developer, a student, a database professional, or part of a larger development team. Since the free web version requires no registration and processes data locally in the browser, we also don't track which companies our users work for. In that sense, every user is one of our most important customers.
