PutFinder is a rules-based cash-secured-put (CSP) screening engine. Each day it scans the full option chain across a curated universe of liquid US stocks, scores each setup on a premium-versus-risk basis from documented indicators, and stores a timestamped snapshot for forward-testing. What it...

As answered by people managing TraderSync and PutFinder.
PutFinder's answer:
PutFinder is a transparent, rules-based cash-secured-put screener — not a signals service. Instead of telling you what to trade, it ranks every setup in the day's option chain by a single relative score built from documented factors (annualized yield, downside buffer, volatility risk premium, Black–Scholes delta, and an earnings gate), so you can see why one setup ranks above another. It also keeps a timestamped, forward-test record of how its ranked setups actually resolve — a checkable track record, not cherry-picked wins. Every factor is documented and reproducible; nothing is a black box. It's a research tool, not investment advice.
PutFinder's answer:
Most options tools are either black-box "signal" services that just tell you what to trade, or raw screeners that dump the whole chain and leave you to eyeball it. PutFinder sits in between: it ranks the full chain by a documented, reproducible score and shows why each setup ranks where it does — the exact factors (annualized yield, downside buffer, volatility risk premium, delta, earnings gate) are visible. It's free, transparent, and keeps a checkable forward-test record instead of marketing cherry-picked wins. Choose it if you want a research screener you can inspect and verify, not a signals subscription. (It's descriptive research, not investment advice.)
PutFinder's answer:
Self-directed US options traders who sell cash-secured puts (and wheel-strategy users) and want a transparent, rules-based way to shortlist setups across a curated universe of liquid names — rather than a signals service telling them what to trade. It's for people who want to see and verify the methodology, not follow black-box alerts. It assumes familiarity with options basics (strikes, expirations, delta) and is used as research, not investment advice.
PutFinder's answer:
PutFinder started from frustration with the options-tool landscape: nearly every tool was either a black-box "signal" service or a raw screener that dumped the whole option chain and left you to eyeball it — neither told you why a setup ranked where it did. So it was built as an honest, rules-based alternative: score every cash-secured-put setup from documented factors, publish a daily Top-10, and keep a timestamped forward-test record so the ranking can be verified — or disproven — over time. It's built in public, with the methodology documented rather than hidden, and deliberately framed as descriptive research, not a signals service and not investment advice.
PutFinder's answer:
The screening engine is written in Python (pandas, NumPy and SciPy for the indicators) over a SQLAlchemy data layer — SQLite in development, Postgres in production. Options data comes from a licensed, real-time US market-data API. The public website is a lightweight, mostly server-rendered web app hosted on Cloudflare. The whole pipeline is documented and reproducible, and built in public.
