RepDB is a one-time-purchase exercise dataset for developers building fitness and workout apps โ€” not a subscription, not a rate-limited API. You download the data once and own it: JSON (and SQLite on the higher tier), WebP images, and full EN/DE/ES translations, with no per-request billing and no dependency on our servers staying up.

A free tier includes 400 exercises with flat-style 512ร—512 images, attribution-licensed for commercial in-app use. The Starter tier ($199) adds the full catalog in classic white-background style. Standard ($399) adds transparent 1024px images, looping animations, exercise relations (similar/progressions/regressions), workout templates, and embeddings โ€” exclusive to that tier.

Every exercise includes muscle-group highlighting, equipment/muscle icons, MET values, and safety/goal tags. Compared to GIF- or JPG-based competitor APIs, RepDB images are transparent WebP with no watermarks, so they drop into any app UI without a white box around them.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing TR Studio and RepDB.

What makes your product unique?

TR Studio's answer

TR Studio starts from the document, not a blank prompt. Every business already writes down how it works โ€” SOPs, policies, procedures โ€” and Studio distills those documents into working AI agents. Upload a procedure (or describe one in plain English, or even drop in a screenshot of a form) and Studio drafts the agent: the instructions, the steps, and an honest list of gaps where the document asks for something it can't do โ€” it never silently invents. You review, publish, and the agent is live behind a real REST API endpoint with its own scoped keys, spend ceiling, and a per-step audit trail showing everything it did and what it cost. Governance isn't a feature bolted on; it's the architecture.

RepDB's answer:

RepDB is sold as a one-time download, not a metered API โ€” you own the JSON/SQLite data and WebP images outright, with no rate limits, no per-request billing, and no risk of the vendor cutting off access. It's also the only dataset in this space with EN/DE/ES translations, transparent (alpha-channel) images with no watermark, muscle-group highlighting, safety/goal tags, and looping animations on the higher tier.

What's the story behind your product?

TR Studio's answer

The founder spent 20+ years as an enterprise architect and CTO in regulated, high-transaction industries โ€” and two of those years watching every meeting fill with AI talk while almost nobody built anything. So he gave himself an assignment: learn AI properly by building something real, on nights, weekends, and his own Azure bill. The problem he picked was one he'd watched for decades: businesses document how they work, then humans execute all of it by hand. Eight months later the learning project had become a full platform โ€” because making AI safe to hand to strangers (spend caps, isolation, audit trails, human review) turned out to be 80% of the work, and exactly the part worth productizing. That governed-execution approach is the subject of a pending US patent.

RepDB's answer:

RepDB grew out of a consumer workout app its creator was building solo. Sourcing exercise images and data meant either paying for a subscription API with usage caps and no caching rights, or producing everything from scratch. The illustrated, multi-language dataset was built for us first, then split out as its own product once it became clear other indie developers had the same problem and preferred to buy the data outright rather than rent it through an API.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

TR Studio's answer

Workflow tools like Zapier, Make, and n8n are excellent at connecting apps โ€” but you build the logic yourself, node by node, and the AI is a step inside someone else's flow. In TR Studio, the procedure you already documented is the automation: no canvas, no node graph, no prompt engineering. And where most AI agent builders stop at "it works," Studio is built for teams that have to answer for what the AI did: mandatory human review before anything publishes, spend caps enforced on every kind of run so there are no surprise bills, full execution traces with per-step cost, and multi-tenant isolation. If you need AI you can audit โ€” not just AI that answers โ€” that's the difference.

RepDB's answer:

Most alternatives are subscription APIs โ€” you pay monthly, you're capped on requests, and ExerciseDB's terms of use explicitly forbid caching or storing the data at all, so every image render is a live paid API call. RepDB is the opposite: pay once, download the files, self-host with zero ongoing dependency. It's also the only option offering true DE/ES localization and transparent images instead of a white box behind every exercise.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

TR Studio's answer

Operations, compliance, and technology leaders at small and mid-sized businesses โ€” especially in document- and decision-heavy environments like healthcare administration, financial services, insurance, and professional services. It also fits developers who want an agent as a callable API endpoint in minutes, and consultants or MSPs building automations for their clients. If your team runs on documented procedures and you want AI leverage without giving up traceability, you're who it was built for.

RepDB's answer:

Solo developers and small teams building fitness or workout-tracking apps (iOS, Android, web) who need licensed exercise images and structured exercise data, but don't want to build their own media pipeline or depend on a rate-limited third-party API.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

TR Studio's answer

.NET (C#), EF Core, Azure SQL, and Azure App Services, with Azure OpenAI as the default model provider behind a provider-abstraction layer โ€” workspaces can bring their own Anthropic, Google Gemini, or OpenAI keys. Billing runs on Stripe. The platform is a single .NET solution with multi-tenant isolation enforced at the data layer.
