For how to actively distribute the newsletters if you go the email route there’s several services (unless you’re cool with just whacking everyone’s email into a BCC list and sending manually, of course) you might find Tiny Letter useful. It’s 100% free and intended for exactly this sort of content and handles important things like unsubscribe functionality. That said is does seem to require a postal address that... My way of doing marketing starts with figuring out what my overall project will (or will not) be. In this case, I looked at the vendors like Zendesk, Intercom, Freshdesk, or Help Scout. They all have whizbang features such as live-chat, collaboration stuffs, automations and workflows. They bill per contact and addons. I’d emphasize a straightforward, fuss-free angle instead.
