Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Timestamp.rocks and Selfcommit.dev.

What makes your product unique?

Timestamp.rocks's answer

Discord Time Converter combines privacy-focused local processing with careful timezone handling. The selected date, time, timezone, and daylight-saving choice are converted directly in the browser rather than sent to a conversion server.

It supports IANA timezones, identifies nonexistent or repeated local times during DST transitions, and provides nine timestamp output options with previews and copy-ready Discord markup. No account or installation is required.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Timestamp.rocks's answer

Discord Time Converter is free, requires no sign-up, and turns a date, time, and source timezone into copy-ready Discord timestamp code in seconds.

It is especially useful when daylight-saving changes make ordinary timezone conversion unreliable. The tool detects DST gaps and ambiguous times instead of silently generating a potentially incorrect timestamp. It also provides English and Chinese interfaces, timestamp previews, countdown formats, and ready-to-use message templates.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Timestamp.rocks's answer

The primary audience includes Discord community managers, moderators, bot developers, gaming groups, event organizers, content creators, and remote teams.

It is designed for anyone who needs to announce meetings, launches, livestreams, tournaments, deadlines, or community events to people in different timezones without asking every reader to calculate the time manually.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Timestamp.rocks's answer

Discord Time Converter is built with React 19, TypeScript, TanStack Start and TanStack Router. It uses Vite for development and production builds, Tailwind CSS for styling, and Inlang Paraglide for English and Chinese localization.

Timezone conversion is implemented with JavaScript internationalization APIs and @date-fns/tz. The application is deployed through Cloudflare Workers. Vitest, Playwright, Biome, and TypeScript checks are used for testing and code quality.
