The VAT API's answer

Launched in late 2014 for new EU VAT rules (TBE services). Version 2 released in April 2019 with rewritten core, better docs, infrastructure, pricing, and future-proofing (Brexit, EU changes)

I built certdecoder.com over the weekend for my own needs. Sometimes in my work, I need to verify and check certificate details.

Built on AWS (Amazon EC2/API Gateway), with Postman collection for docs, JSON/REST API architecture pulling VAT data from VIES and HMRC endpoints

certdecoder.com was built using just JavaScript and HTML—simple, fast, and with all processing happening locally in your browser, so no certificate data is sent to any server
