Telvio dials ordinary phone numbers, not other app users. That one decision shapes the whole product: the person you call installs nothing, needs no account and needs no internet — their landline or mobile simply rings.

The second difference is that there is no sign-up at all. No email, no password, no SMS code, no verification screen. You install the app, you get one free minute, and you dial.

The third is the shape of the pricing. Minutes are bought once, in packs of $1.99, $4.99 or $9.99. Nothing auto-renews, minutes never expire, calls are billed per second, and connecting a call costs nothing.

Mostly because of what the price actually turns out to be.

Cheap-calling apps tend to advertise a low per-minute rate and recover the difference elsewhere: a connection fee charged on every call, rounding a 40-second call up to a full minute, credit that quietly expires after a few months, or a plan that renews whether you called anyone or not. Telvio has none of those. Billing is per second, connecting a call is free, minutes stay in your balance until you use them, and there is no subscription to cancel.

The second reason is how little you have to do before the first call. There is no registration step — no email, no password, no code to wait for — and the app comes with one free minute, so you can hear the line before you pay anything.

The third is who you can reach. Because Telvio calls the phone number itself rather than an app account, it works for the calls messengers cannot make: a parent's landline, a bank's support line, a clinic, a hotel front desk, a government office abroad.

Where Telvio is not the right choice: it is iPhone-only for now, it makes outgoing calls only, there is no inbound number, and it must not be used for emergency services.

People who need to reach a specific phone number in another country, rather than a specific person on a messenger. In practice that splits into a few groups:

• Migrants and expats whose family back home still answers a landline, or has a phone but no messaging app.
• Travellers who need the hotel, the airline desk, the clinic or their bank while abroad, and do not want a roaming bill or a second SIM for three calls.
• Students abroad calling home, and calling universities, embassies and consulates — all of which answer a phone number and none of which are in your contact list.
• Anyone dealing with institutions in another country: a bank's support line, a government office, a doctor's reception, a landlord.

The common thread is that the other side is an ordinary phone, not an app. Telvio is deliberately narrow about this: it is an outgoing-call tool for iPhone, not a messenger, not a second phone number, and not a business phone system.

When Microsoft retired Skype in 2025, the part people missed was not video chat — every messenger does that. It was Skype Out: dialling a normal phone number in another country for a couple of cents a minute. Nothing mainstream replaced it. Messaging apps had solved calling people who already use the same messaging app, and left the rest alone.

Telvio was built for that gap by VAST FLOW, TOO in Kazakhstan — a country where calling abroad is not a niche use case but something a large share of families do every week.

Most of the product decisions came from looking at how apps in this category actually behave. They ask for an account before they show you anything, so Telvio asks for nothing. They charge a fee just to connect a call and round every call up to the next minute, so Telvio bills per second with no connection fee. They sell credit that expires, so Telvio's minutes do not. They push subscriptions, so Telvio sells one-time packs at $1.99, $4.99 and $9.99 and never renews anything on its own.

The app launched on iOS in 2026. It makes outgoing calls only, and it is not a replacement for emergency services.
