   Powerful Data Visualization Tool with a Steep Learning Curve

   I’ve used Tableau to analyze and present data for business reporting, and its strength is clearly in visualization. Turning raw data into interactive dashboards is fast once you understand how the tool works, and the end results look polished and professional.

   However, getting to that point isn’t instant. New users may struggle with calculations, data modeling, and performance tuning. Licensing costs are also high, which can be difficult to justify for smaller teams or individual users.

   Tableau works best for organizations that rely heavily on data-driven decisions and can invest time and budget into analytics. It’s not the easiest or cheapest option, but the output quality makes it worthwhile

• Where to publish knowledge sharing on Tableau reverse engineering and data dictionary generation?

  Could anyone recommend what media I should approach to publish my work (internet or print). I could try the Tableau forum in tableau.com but it's not very active + Tableau may be unappreciative as my work overlaps with their (pricey) data management solution. • What tips do you have on evaluating various BI tools for business needs? What are the essential criteria's you would include when evaluating different tools? The goal is to have an unbiased, objective approach.

  I just started learning Tableau because our dept is transitioning into Tableau from Power BI. Since I already have years of experience with Power BI I just went over their tutorials from tableau.com and got onboarded pretty quick.   Pros are instant HA and Migration. Cons are huge bandwidth hits. With your 4x1gbe you would be maxed out on replicating those 25 VMs. You wouldn't have anything for users. I have a test lab with 4 nodes, 22cpu 100gbram and 30tb space, using low end stuff, 12hdds. Proxmox, ceph dashboard, (the native ceph dashboard you can turn on), and a netdata.cloud account.   There can be some issues if you mix and match elastic versions, wazuh versions, logstash versions. But the documentation guides you very well with matrix of what is and is not compatible. You will want a beefy VM to run it in, I started smaller than I should of, and after running a while it kind of puked on itself, certain things would randomly stop working.
