Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Supercut and ScreenCursor.

What's the story behind your product?

Supercut's answer

Supercut is built by Float Labs, founded by David Okuniev and Neil Kinnish. It's proof of a broader thesis: AI has made building software cheap, but not good, so taste and direction become the real moat. A small team, out-crafting bigger, slower incumbents with design and judgment rather than raw feature count.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Supercut's answer

Primarily product and engineering teams (demos, design reviews, bug reports, async updates) and ops/people teams (training, SOPs, onboarding). Other relevant use cases are for support/CS teams (customer tutorials and ticket replies) and sales/client-facing teams and agencies (demos and client updates).

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Supercut's answer

Ramp, n8n, Flodesk, Perplexity, Plain, Bullpark

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Supercut's answer

Most screen recorders stop at the recording, you get a raw or lightly-produced clip and the rest is on you. Supercut goes further: your video is shareable the second you stop talking, comes out looking professional by default, and becomes something your team can skim, question, and act on afterward (transcript, chapters, summary, and a doc if you need one). If you've outgrown Loom's pricing, clunkiness, or reliability, this is the upgrade path.

What makes your product unique?

Supercut's answer

Supercut turns a screen recording into more than a video. Every recording is composed automatically (clean layout, clear audio, your brand), and comes with a transcript, chapters, and a summary built in, no editing step required. You can chat with a recording to get answers straight from what was said and shown, turn it into a written doc, or hand it to your tools and agents via API/MCP. It's built by a small, design-led team, so the craft shows in what comes out the other end, not just in the recording step.
