Sure there was basically a cartel in social media. You saw coordinated censorship campaigns to ban the former president of the United States for example. But I wouldn't discount the amount of political interference there as well. The last administration admitted to flagging individual posts for the social media companies. I'm a new coder too. What helps me is finding a good place to learn the most basic principles and having 2-5 things I want to do. I started with codedex.io , learning Python and HTML and then took their courses and moved on looking for projects with tutorials. Little steps one by one.
