Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing StayManual.app and LinuxPatch.com.

What makes your product unique?

StayManual.app's answer

The Call Host button is the big one. Most guest-manual tools give guests a single phone number. staymanual lets you build a small roster, owner, co-host, cleaner, night cover, each with their own days and hours, and guests reach whoever is actually on duty at that moment. A question at 11pm goes to the night cover, not your bedside table. No other guidebook tool we know of puts a schedule behind the contact button.

Beyond that:

  • The printed QR code never goes stale. Change the manual, even its web address, and codes you printed last year still open the latest version.
  • All twelve guest languages are included on the free plan, and things like Wi-Fi passwords are protected from being mangled by translation.
  • Guests never install an app or create an account.
  • Pricing is flat per plan, not per property. No per-guest fees and no cut of bookings.

LinuxPatch.com's answer:

LinuxPatch.com stands out due to its comprehensive, user-friendly approach to Linux patch management. Unlike other tools, it offers one-click updates, AI-powered CVE reporting, and a unique autopilot feature that automates patching across multiple Linux distributions. The platform also supports server grouping for targeted updates, ensuring efficient management even in complex environments. Additionally, its health checks monitoring feature ensures that systems remain stable post-update, making it an ideal solution for businesses prioritizing security and operational efficiency.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

StayManual.app's answer

Where staymanual tends to win:

  • Guests reach the right person at the right time through the Call Host schedule, not a single number that always rings you.
  • Everything is included on every plan. Languages, video, the PDF booklet and the private-mode lock are not held back for a higher tier.
  • The bill stays flat as you grow: $15 a month covers five properties, where per-property pricing elsewhere adds up fast.
  • Guests never install anything or sign in, so the manual actually gets read.

It's free for one property with no card on file, so the honest answer is: run it next to whatever you use now and keep the one your guests actually read.

LinuxPatch.com's answer:

LinuxPatch.com offers a distinctive blend of simplicity and power that sets it apart from competitors. Its one-click updates and autopilot feature simplify patch management, while AI-powered CVE reporting ensures you’re always ahead of potential threats. The platform supports multiple Linux distributions and includes server grouping for targeted updates, making it versatile for different environments. Health checks post-update provide added peace of mind, ensuring your systems remain stable and secure. For businesses seeking efficiency and robust security, LinuxPatch.com is the clear choice.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

StayManual.app's answer

Anyone hosting a short-term rental who answers the same questions every stay:

  • One-property Airbnb hosts (the free plan includes everything)
  • Couples or co-host teams running a few units
  • Property managers up to about fifty properties
  • Hosts with international guests who want the manual to open in the guest's own language
  • B&Bs and guesthouses

If you need booking sync or channel management, staymanual is not that. It sits alongside those tools and does the guest-facing part well.

LinuxPatch.com's answer:

The primary audience for LinuxPatch.com consists of IT administrators, DevOps professionals, and security teams managing Linux-based servers and infrastructures. These individuals are responsible for maintaining system security, ensuring uptime, and managing patching processes across various Linux distributions. They prioritize automation, efficiency, and security in their workflows and seek tools that simplify patch management while providing robust protection against vulnerabilities. Businesses, especially those with complex or large-scale Linux environments, will find LinuxPatch.com particularly beneficial.

What's the story behind your product?

StayManual.app's answer

The founder watched hosts he knows answer the same handful of questions every single stay. Where is the Wi-Fi, how does the gate work, can I arrive late, what time is checkout. The answers always existed, in a binder, in old messages, on a laminated sheet, just never where the guest was standing when the question came up.

staymanual is the fix: write the guide once, print one QR code, and every answer is on the guest's phone, in their own language. It is built by a tiny team that hosts talk to directly, so feedback lands with the person who builds the thing.

LinuxPatch.com's answer:
