Walyro is a live wallpaper app for Mac. Instead of pulling from an online gallery, it turns your own videos into animated desktop wallpapers and keeps everything on your device.
Drop in an MP4 or MOV and it plays as your background, up to 4K. You can preview a clip on each display before applying it, build playlists that rotate on their own, and control each screen from the menu bar or a Now Playing widget in the sidebar. A few built-in videos are there if you want something running in one click.
What it does
It's a native Swift and SwiftUI app, not an Electron wrapper, so it stays light. Playback pauses when an app goes fullscreen and eases off on battery or Low Power Mode.

I wanted my own videos living on my desktop without uploading them to someone's cloud or making yet another account. The Mac apps I tried were built around their own galleries, and Wallpaper Engine, the app people always point to, doesn't run on Mac at all. So I built the one I wanted: point it at your own clips, keep the whole library on the device, and make it feel native instead of a web wrapper.
