Three reasons: (1) Works instantly - no 200MB downloads like Skype, (2) Pay-as-you-go from $0.02/min - no monthly fees like traditional services, (3) Credits never expire - unlike calling cards or Viber Out. Plus, we're actually simple to use.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Three groups: Digital nomads & remote workers calling internationally, expats & immigrants staying connected with family back home, and small businesses with distributed teams who need affordable international calling without complex phone systems.

What's the story behind your product?

StartACall's answer

I'm a solo maker learning to build products. Got frustrated watching family struggle with calling cards and bloated apps just to make simple international calls. Spent 3 months building something that just... works. No fluff, no complexity. This is my attempt at building something people actually need.

Frontend: Next.js 14 with React and TypeScript Calling: WebRTC for browser audio, Twilio for PSTN connectivity Payments: Stripe Hosting: Vercel Real-time: WebSockets for live updates Modern, reliable, and fast.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

We just launched, so we're early! Currently serving individual users and small remote teams. Our goal is to help anyone who needs to call internationally - from freelancers to families to growing startups. Building customer base one happy caller at a time.
