Splitceipt's answer:
Friends, couples, roommates, travelers, and groups who regularly share expenses. It's especially useful for restaurant bills, trips, shared households, and situations where people didn't all spend the same amount and want a fairer way to work out who owes what.
Splitceipt's answer:
Most expense apps work well for simple group balances but become tedious when the real bill is more complicated. Splitceipt handles both: quick everyday splits when simplicity is enough, and detailed itemized splitting when accuracy matters. Receipt scanning reduces manual entry, groups keep ongoing expenses organized, and guest links mean your friends don't have to install another app just because you use Splitceipt.
Splitceipt's answer:
Splitceipt combines flexible expense splitting with receipt scanning and frictionless sharing. Expenses can be split equally, by percentage, custom amounts, or item by item from a scanned receipt. Best of all, not everyone needs the app - guests can open a shared link, see what they owe, and mark themselves paid without creating an account.
Splitceipt's answer:
Splitceipt came from a simple problem: real-world expenses rarely split as neatly as a total divided by the number of people.
Sometimes everyone owes the same amount. Sometimes each person ordered different things. Sometimes costs are shared in completely different proportions. Existing workflows often make the simple cases easy or the complicated cases possible — but not both.
Splitceipt was built to make the method fit the expense, instead of forcing every expense into the same type of split.
Splitceipt's answer:
React Native, Expo, Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL, Neon, and Google Gemini for receipt scanning and extraction.
Splitceipt's answer:
Splitceipt is a consumer app used by individual users and groups rather than enterprise customers.
I prefer this app to similar ones I've tried. It seems clearer, more straightforward and simpler to use for normal holidays etc. But if you need more complex arrangements it's versatile too: in that you can have multiple currencies; and groups containing different people.
