Possible disadvantages of SourceForge

  • Legacy Perception
SourceForge has historically been seen as a platform for older projects, which can make it seem less attractive to developers looking for modern tools and communities.
  • Adware Controversy
In the past, SourceForge faced backlash for bundling adware with downloads, affecting its reputation despite changes aimed at rectifying the issue.
  • User Interface
Some users find the user interface to be less modern and less intuitive compared to other hosting platforms like GitHub or GitLab.
  • Performance Issues
There have been occasional performance issues and downtimes, which can disrupt project development and user experience.
  • Limited Integration with CI/CD
SourceForge's integrations with modern continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools are not as extensive as those offered by competitors.

  • Safety Concerns
As with any online marketplace that encourages in-person exchanges, there are inherent safety risks that users must consider and take precautions against.
  • Competition with Larger Platforms
Saily competes against larger, more established platforms like Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist, which may offer more features and have a larger user base.
  • Lack of Advanced Features
The app may not have as many advanced features such as bidding options or integrated payment systems, which are sometimes available on other marketplace platforms.

Best GitHub Alternatives for Developers in 2023
SourceForgeโ€™s user interface works fine, but it could do with a modern overhaul to make it easier on the eye and give it a more intuitive feel. While it has a large community, SourceForgeโ€™s support is not as extensive or as quick as GitHubโ€™s, which has the advantage of having millions of developers on the platform. SourceForgeโ€™s security is another shortcoming, as the...

Saily Reviews

  1. After I saw the news I immediately dowloaded it as I am currently on my holidays. I am a big fan of NordVPN and use it for a few years and was very excited to try the Saily app. I liked how easy the set up was and the price look reasonable for me. I am using the data from Saily at the moment and haven't noticed any bugs or slow internet connection. Also I saw that they have 24/7 customer support. I think this is very important to have . I kind of missed it in other brands, especially when I had problems with setup.

  • Is Buying an ESIM for a Trip Abroad Worth the Hassle?
Https://saily.com/ works quite nicely. Brought to you by the NordVPN folks. Seems like there's enough WIFI around to use your original cell number and use Wifi-Calling, or the plethora of apps to make free calls with. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
