Domainee is a custom domains API that lets SaaS products offer white-label domains to their users in minutes instead of months - and even sell domains directly inside their app. Connecting a domain takes a single CNAME record, with SSL certificates, renewals, and DNS verification handled automatically, while the Buy-a-Domain API turns domain registration into one API call. The first 50 domains and 100 GB of bandwidth are free forever, with no credit card required.

Key Features

  • One-CNAME setup with automatic SSL: End users add a single CNAME at their registrar, and Domainee issues and renews their certificate via Let's Encrypt on the first request โ€” no DNS validation back-and-forth.

  • Buy-a-Domain API: Let users search for and purchase a domain without ever leaving your app. One API call registers the domain with your end user as the legal owner, configures DNS, and connects it to your product โ€” at wholesale price plus a flat $1 fee, with your own markup on top.

  • Stripe-shaped REST API: POST /v1/domains creates a domain, returns the CNAME, and fires a domain.verified event over HMAC-signed webhooks the moment DNS lands. Bearer keys and idempotency keys included.

  • Full domain lifecycle endpoints: DNS, nameserver, and renewal management via API, so your users never have to log into a registrar.

  • Hosted MCP server for AI agents: Drop one config block into Claude, Cursor, or any AI agent and get 11 ready-made tools to list, create, and verify domains in plain English โ€” no code change.

  • Real free tier: 50 custom domains and 100 GB of bandwidth every month, free forever. The free quota stays free even after you scale past it.

As answered by people managing SourceForge and Domainee.dev.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Domainee.dev's answer:

SaaS founders, developers, indie hackers, product teams, website builders, no-code platform builders, agencies

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Domainee.dev's answer:

Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, MongoDB, AWS (Lambda, S3, CloudFront), Stripe, Let's Encrypt, Express

What's the story behind your product?

Domainee.dev's answer:

I built Domainee because I was tired of seeing developers waste months building the same custom domain and SSL infrastructure for every new project. I wanted to create a "set it and forget it" solution that handles the complex plumbing of DNS and certificates through a single, clean API. Domainee was born to turn a major technical headache into a copy-paste task, allowing founders to focus on their core product instead of infrastructure.
