Songcove sings the finished song in the sender's own voice. You hum or sing for about thirty seconds — off-key is fine, and no musical ability is required — and the completed song comes back sounding like you.

That changes what the gift is. Most custom-song services deliver a track about someone, performed by a stranger. Songcove delivers the sender actually singing to them.

The lyrics are built the same way: from real details the sender writes — how they met, the inside joke, the thing that person always says — rather than a template with a name inserted.

You hear it before you pay. A sixty-second preview is free, so the decision is made on the actual song rather than on a promise.

You can change it. If the lyrics miss, you edit any line yourself or ask for another version, and it rewrites. You are not stuck with the first attempt.

It can be your voice, not a session vocalist's. Most services stop at a polished stranger's performance. That is the option here, not the ceiling.

Delivery is finished, not a file. The song arrives as a page the recipient opens like a gift — cover art, a note from the sender, nothing to install or sign up for. It can also become a lyric video or a printable lyric poster.

It started from a gap that is easy to feel and hard to fix: the people closest to us are the hardest to buy for, because anything bought says less than something made.

Custom songs already existed as a category, but the versions available were either expensive and slow, or fast and generic — a stranger singing a template with a name dropped in. And every one of them shared the same limitation: the sender never appears in the gift. Their story is used as input, then handed to someone else to perform.

The idea was to close that last gap. If the sender can hum for thirty seconds, the song can come back in their voice — and the gift stops being about them and becomes from them. Everything else was built around making that one thing work, and around letting people hear the result before committing to it.
