As answered by people managing Smallpdf and PocketSpry.
PocketSpry's answer:
PocketSpry is built around small, focused tools that do one thing well and get out of the way. I’m not trying to make another giant all-in-one app with a bunch of features nobody uses. The goal is to make useful tools that are fast, simple, free, and don’t require an account just to use them.
PocketSpry's answer:
Mostly because it’s simple. You can open the site, use the tool you need, and move on without signing up, dealing with a bunch of upsells, or learning a complicated interface. I’m also constantly adding new tools based on what people are actually searching for and using.
PocketSpry's answer:
Pretty much anyone who wants to get a small task done quickly. That includes people writing emails or documents, students, office workers, creators, developers, and anyone who needs a quick utility without downloading another app or creating another account.
PocketSpry's answer:
I kept running into little tasks that somehow required a whole separate website, app, account, or subscription. PocketSpry started as a way to put those kinds of tools in one place and make them as simple as possible to use. I’ve been building it out one tool at a time and letting real usage and search data help decide what gets added next.
PocketSpry's answer:
PocketSpry is built mostly with TypeScript. The frontend uses Angular and Angular Material, the backend uses Node.js and Express, and MongoDB Atlas handles the database. It’s hosted on Render and is also set up as a progressive web app.
PocketSpry's answer:
PocketSpry is still pretty early, so I don’t really have any “biggest customers” yet. Right now it’s mostly individual users finding the site through search and using the free tools. The focus at this stage is growing traffic, learning which tools people actually use, and building from there.
