Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Skool and Growsembly.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Growsembly's answer:

Run the math on your own revenue instead of comparing sticker prices.

A community earning $2,000 a month in memberships, over three years:

  • Growsembly: $540
  • Mighty Networks Launch: $4,284
  • Circle Professional: $4,644
  • Skool Pro: $5,652

The gap is not the subscription. It is the percentage those platforms take from every member payment, which grows as you grow. Growsembly's cut is 0%, so the line stays flat forever.

Prices read from each vendor's own pricing page on 2026-09-04, and card processing is excluded because Stripe charges that on every platform including this one.

The other reason is ownership. Payments land in your Stripe account, not ours, and your member data exports at any time.

What makes your product unique?

Growsembly's answer:

Members pay you through your own Stripe account, and Growsembly takes 0% of those payments. Not a reduced rate, not a rate that drops when you upgrade. Zero, on every plan.

Most community platforms sit between you and your members' money and keep a percentage of it forever. Growsembly charges one flat price of $20 a month and never touches the revenue. A community earning $2,000 a month pays the same $20 as one earning nothing.

Everything is included at that price: community feed, courses, events, gamification, direct messages, paid membership tiers, AI community management and unlimited members. There is no tier above it to upgrade into.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Growsembly's answer:

Creators, coaches and course creators running a paid membership community, usually solo or with a small team, typically somewhere between their first paying members and a few thousand.

The people it fits best are the ones who have done the math on percentage fees and did not like the answer, and the ones moving off a platform that owns their payment relationship. Member import is built in for exactly that reason.

It is not built for enterprise customer communities or for large support forums.

What's the story behind your product?

Growsembly's answer:

Growsembly came out of running a community, not out of planning a product. The build was for one community, Builders Club, which still runs on Growsembly as a tenant like any other.

The thing that kept coming back was the fee. Every platform wanted a percentage of member payments on top of the monthly bill, which meant the platform's revenue grew whenever the community did, for no additional work. That is a strange arrangement to accept permanently.

So the payments were pointed at the community owner's own Stripe account and the percentage was set to zero. Everything since has been built around that decision: one flat price, everything included, no tier that unlocks a better rate, and an export button that always works.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Growsembly's answer:

Next.js 15 and React 19 on TypeScript, running on Node 22.

Data is SQLite through Node's built-in node:sqlite, one database file per community rather than one shared database, which is what keeps tenants genuinely separate. Payments are Stripe, using Stripe Connect so member payments go to the owner's own account. AI features run on Anthropic's Claude models.

It runs on our own infrastructure behind Caddy rather than on a serverless platform.
