Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing SkipBait and Open Devdocs.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

SkipBait's answer

Most YouTube AI tools give you a summary and stop there. SkipBait extracts actionables and the AI chat has web-search capabilities, allowing users to ask questions beyond the scope of the video. The free tier is genuinely usable: 2 video analyses per day, no credit card, no API key.

What makes your product unique?

SkipBait's answer

SkipBait works directly on YouTube, no tab switching, no URL pasting. It gives you an honest title and TLDR before you commit to watching, a structured timestamped outline, and actionable to-do list from the video. The AI chat goes beyond the transcript — it searches the web in real time so answers aren't limited to what the video covers.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

SkipBait's answer

People who consume a lot of YouTube for learning, work, or research, and don't have time to watch everything in full. Students, professionals, researchers, and anyone who's clicked a video and immediately wondered if it was worth 20 minutes of their life.

What's the story behind your product?

SkipBait's answer

I quit social media cold turkey but couldn't give up YouTube. The learning potential was real but so was the rabbit hole. The problem wasn't YouTube but passive consumption so SkipBait was built to help people with engaging with the content they consume.
