Opalstack provides a clean, modern, and intuitive web-based dashboard for managing sites, applications, databases, and email accounts, which is a significant improvement over older-style hosting control panels like cPanel.
  • Strong Support for Multiple Applications
The platform supports a wide variety of application types including WordPress, Django, Flask, Express, static sites, and more, allowing users to host diverse projects on a single account with easy deployment.
  • Reliable Infrastructure and Support
Opalstack is built by former WebFaction team members, bringing experienced hosting expertise. They offer responsive customer support and a reputation for stable, well-managed server infrastructure with good uptime.

Possible disadvantages

  • Smaller Community and Ecosystem
Compared to major hosting providers like DigitalOcean, AWS, or even shared hosts like SiteGround, Opalstack has a smaller user base, which means fewer community tutorials, third-party guides, and forum discussions available for troubleshooting.
  • Limited Scalability Options
Opalstack is primarily a shared hosting provider, which means it may not be the best choice for high-traffic applications or projects that require rapid, on-demand scaling of resources like CPU, RAM, or storage.
  • Not Ideal for Beginners
While developer-friendly, Opalstack's approach can be intimidating for non-technical users. Setting up applications often requires familiarity with the command line and server configuration, which may not suit those looking for simple one-click solutions.
  • Limited Data Center Locations
Opalstack offers a relatively small number of data center locations compared to major cloud providers, which may result in higher latency for users targeting audiences in regions not well-served by the available server locations.
  • Fewer Managed Services and Add-ons
Unlike larger hosting platforms, Opalstack lacks a wide range of managed add-on services such as built-in CDN integration, managed backups with granular restore options, or one-click SSL management that more mainstream providers offer out of the box.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing siOsi and Opalstack.

What makes your product unique?

siOsi's answer

siOsi is the only tool that combines full 12-season color analysis with technical makeup diagnostics in one photo-based scan. Most tools do one or the other: a color quiz, or a makeup filter. siOsi reads your actual selfie to give your season, undertone, and palette, then grades your makeup through 15 diagnostic labs (flash white-cast, oxidation, coverage, longevity). Free, instant, no signup, in 9 languages.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

siOsi's answer

Competing color tools are quizzes that make you self-report answers you don't know, and in-person analysis costs $200–500 with analysts who often disagree. siOsi analyzes the actual photo, for free, with no signup for the first look. It also does something none of them do: diagnoses your real makeup application. You get both halves of "how do I look" in one place.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

siOsi's answer

Primarily women aged 18–35, from complete beginners to working makeup artists, and international (the app runs in 9 languages). It's mobile-first and appeals to anyone into color analysis, makeup, or a glow-up who wants a real answer without paying for a consultant.

What's the story behind your product?

siOsi's answer

The web is full of "what's my color season?" questions with no good answer: quizzes can't see you, and professional analysis is expensive and gatekept. I wanted to give anyone a real, photo-based answer for free. Then I realized "your colors" is only half the story, so I added makeup diagnostics no other tool offers, grading how your makeup actually performs in photos and real light.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

siOsi's answer

Next.js 16, React 19, and TypeScript on the frontend; Tailwind CSS with shadcn/ui and Radix; Supabase for auth, database, and storage; Capacitor for native iOS/Android; RevenueCat for subscriptions; Google Gemini and OpenAI vision models plus MediaPipe for face analysis; next-intl for 9-language localization; deployed on Vercel with Cloudflare.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

siOsi's answer

Individual consumers (B2C); launching publicly August 2026.
