  • Strong Support for Multiple Applications
The platform supports a wide variety of application types including WordPress, Django, Flask, Express, static sites, and more, allowing users to host diverse projects on a single account with easy deployment.
  • Reliable Infrastructure and Support
Opalstack is built by former WebFaction team members, bringing experienced hosting expertise. They offer responsive customer support and a reputation for stable, well-managed server infrastructure with good uptime.

Possible disadvantages

  • Smaller Community and Ecosystem
Compared to major hosting providers like DigitalOcean, AWS, or even shared hosts like SiteGround, Opalstack has a smaller user base, which means fewer community tutorials, third-party guides, and forum discussions available for troubleshooting.
  • Limited Scalability Options
Opalstack is primarily a shared hosting provider, which means it may not be the best choice for high-traffic applications or projects that require rapid, on-demand scaling of resources like CPU, RAM, or storage.
  • Not Ideal for Beginners
While developer-friendly, Opalstack's approach can be intimidating for non-technical users. Setting up applications often requires familiarity with the command line and server configuration, which may not suit those looking for simple one-click solutions.
  • Limited Data Center Locations
Opalstack offers a relatively small number of data center locations compared to major cloud providers, which may result in higher latency for users targeting audiences in regions not well-served by the available server locations.
  • Fewer Managed Services and Add-ons
Unlike larger hosting platforms, Opalstack lacks a wide range of managed add-on services such as built-in CDN integration, managed backups with granular restore options, or one-click SSL management that more mainstream providers offer out of the box.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing SignalMatch.nl and Opalstack.

What makes your product unique?

SignalMatch.nl's answer

SignalMatch does one narrow thing: it turns a raw candidate CV into a client-ready presentation profile in your agency's own house style, in under 60 seconds. Three things set that apart from generic CV parsers and all-purpose AI writing tools.

  1. The output is a finished, branded document, not a data set. Each role is rewritten into exactly six impact bullets, numbers first, and rendered with your logo, colour and font, using one of three built-in templates or your own uploaded PDF/DOCX template. Every bullet stays editable before you download, and pasting in a vacancy text tailors the profile to that role.

  2. Anonymisation comes with a receipt. Full mode removes names, contact details, addresses, dates of birth, BSN and IBAN numbers and URLs, and writes a PII manifest per CV that shows exactly what was stripped from that specific document, rather than a badge that simply claims compliance.

  3. The whole processing chain stays in the EU. Text extraction runs in EU containers, CV structuring runs on Mistral La Plateforme with contractual zero data retention so CV data is never used for AI training, and PDF rendering and storage sit in Frankfurt. Raw CV text is never persisted.

Batch upload of up to 25 PDFs at a time makes it practical for a whole shortlist, not just one candidate.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

SignalMatch.nl's answer

Most tools in this space solve a neighbouring problem. Parsing engines and ATS add-ons extract structured data so a system can read a CV; SignalMatch produces the document a client actually reads, in your branding, ready to send.

Concrete reasons to pick it:

  • Finished output, not a draft. Six impact bullets per role with numbers first, rendered into your own template (PDF or DOCX you upload) or one of three built-in designs. No copy-pasting into Word afterwards.
  • Speed at shortlist scale. Under 60 seconds per CV and batches of up to 25, so a full longlist is presentable in one go.
  • Anonymisation that can be audited. Every anonymised CV gets a PII manifest listing exactly what was removed, which is easier to defend to a client or a DPO than a generic compliance claim.
  • Genuine EU data residency. EU containers for extraction, Mistral La Plateforme with contractual zero data retention for structuring, Frankfurt for rendering and storage, and no persistence of raw CV text.
  • Dutch-first. The interface and the generated output are Dutch, so profiles do not read like translated English.
  • Low, predictable pricing. Free for 5 CVs a month with no credit card, EUR 29/month for 200 CVs, EUR 49/month for 500 CVs plus unlimited house styles, monthly and cancellable, payable by iDEAL, SEPA or card.

If you need a full applicant tracking system or multilingual enterprise parsing, a larger suite is the better fit. If your bottleneck is getting good-looking, anonymised candidate profiles out the door quickly, SignalMatch is built for exactly that.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

SignalMatch.nl's answer

Dutch recruitment agencies and secondment firms that pitch candidates to client companies. The typical user is a recruiter, intercedent or account manager who receives CVs in whatever shape the candidate sent them and has to turn them into a presentable, on-brand profile before it reaches a hiring manager.

Within that group it fits best for:

  • Small and mid-sized bureaus without a designer or an in-house tool, where reformatting CVs eats billable hours.
  • Secondment and interim providers that present the same consultants to many clients and need anonymised profiles as standard.
  • Teams whose clients or DPO ask what personal data was removed, and who want a per-document answer instead of a policy statement.

Interface and generated output are Dutch, so the natural fit is the Netherlands and Dutch-language recruitment work rather than international enterprise hiring.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

SignalMatch.nl's answer

The stack is deliberately EU-only from end to end:

  • Text extraction from uploaded PDFs runs in containers hosted in the EU.
  • CV structuring and rewriting run on Mistral La Plateforme (EU-hosted), under a contractual zero data retention arrangement, so customer CV data is not used for AI model training.
  • PDF rendering of the branded profiles and all storage sit in Frankfurt.
  • Raw CV text is never persisted; only the generated profile is kept.
  • Payments support iDEAL, SEPA direct debit and card.

The architectural choices that matter most are the containerised extraction step, an EU large language model provider with zero retention, and the templating and rendering layer that maps the structured result onto a customer's own PDF or DOCX house style.

What's the story behind your product?

SignalMatch.nl's answer

SignalMatch started with a call with a group of recruitment agencies. Before this I worked at SPAIK, a data and AI agency, where several recruitment firms were leads and clients. Their stories kept converging on the same complaint: getting from a raw CV to a good-looking, properly branded profile was far more painful than it should be.

Part of that is the input. Every candidate writes a CV their own way, and a growing share of what arrives is AI-generated filler. The other part is the workflow. Recruiters own the relationship with both the candidate and the end client, but they are usually not the ones who format the document. That work sits with assistants, and when an assistant is on holiday the whole process stalls.

The original plan was a deep integration with candidate databases and ATS products, Greenhouse and the like. That turned out to be the wrong first move: those systems differ enormously, and most agencies have already wired up their own connections. Solving one small piece properly works better than trying to sit in the middle of everything.

So SignalMatch does exactly one job: a CV goes in, a client-ready profile in your own house style comes out, in under a minute.
