Analysis of CodeHerald

Overall verdict

  • CodeHerald appears to be a niche or lesser-known platform, and there is insufficient verified public information available to make a confident, evidence-based assessment of its quality, reliability, or reputation.

Why this product is good

  • Limited publicly available reviews, ratings, or independent coverage to verify claims

  • Those comfortable testing new or unverified services with minimal financial or data risk
  • Not recommended for users seeking an established, well-reviewed solution without additional verification

If you have a premium Shodan[0] account, they have an โ€˜Imagesโ€™ view which is filtered VNC and other Remote Desktop screenshots and links to view them directly with the IP. Lots of security cameras, some SCADA industrial access control screens, and lately seemingly people who I guess are hacking vulnerable Windows boxes and changing the wallpapers to anti Israel stuff. I'm a little surprised you're asking this but as you don't know - if you set the rulebase correctly, you won't get hammered by "public". A lot of people (of course not people here) don't do that which is why shodan.io is full of servers with SSH exposed to the world. Source: about 3 years ago

Eh, request a full demo before signing anything. If they make you buy before you can try, move on. Just be advised that data they collect from your site may be used in a database that puts a target on your back. Similar to how shodan.io works. I would probe them on how they handle customer data and if data is shared, partitioned, or isolated to ensure safety from a platform leak. They want to be a security... Source: about 3 years ago
