About Settel and DevFinanceTools

In their own words, as submitted to SaaSHub.

Settel
DevFinanceTools

Settel is the wealth and tax platform for people who live across borders, earning here, residing there, holding assets somewhere else entirely. Founder Anita Nair built it after a forgotten tax liability from a country she'd long left caught her completely off guard, the kind of gap no single...

Overall verdict

  • Settel (settel.io) appears to be a niche platform, and without extensive independent reviews or verified track record readily available, it should be approached with due diligence before committing significant resources or funds.

Why this product is good

  • Limited independent third-party reviews make it difficult to fully verify claims and user satisfaction.
  • As with any newer or lesser-known platform, transparency about company background, team, and regulatory compliance should be verified.
  • Potential users should confirm security measures, data protection policies, and customer support responsiveness before relying on the service.
  • Pricing and feature sets should be compared against established competitors to ensure value for money.

Recommended for

  • Early adopters willing to test emerging platforms and provide feedback.
  • Users who have done independent research and verified the platform meets their specific needs.
  • Those comfortable conducting their own due diligence regarding security, compliance, and reliability before use.
  • Not recommended for users seeking a long-established, widely-reviewed solution with extensive public track record.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Settel and DevFinanceTools.

What makes your product unique?

Settel's answer

Most apps make you pick one: track your money, or figure out your taxes. Settel does both, and it actually understands what happens when your life spans more than one country. If you live in the UK but still have money sitting in India, or you moved from the US to Dubai and aren't sure what you still owe, Settel's built around that exact mess.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Settel's answer

Honestly, most tax software only knows one country. And most net worth trackers don't care about tax at all. If you've got income, assets, or residency history spread across the US, UK, India, or UAE, you end up needing two or three different tools just to get a clear picture. Settel puts it all in one place, including the treaty rules that decide who actually gets to tax you.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Settel's answer

People whose financial life doesn't fit neatly into one country. Think expats, NRIs, people who've worked abroad and come back, or anyone juggling accounts, income, or property in more than one place. A lot of our early users were the type who had two or three accountants and still felt like nobody had the full picture.

What's the story behind your product?

Settel's answer

Me Anita(Founder) got blindsided by a tax bill from India years after I already moved to the UK, turned out an old fixed deposit had quietly built up a tax liability the whole time. I had an accountant in India and one in the UK, and neither one saw the full picture. That gap is basically what Settel exists to fix.
