It started with research into ADA website lawsuits, which kept showing the same pattern: sites getting sued despite having an accessibility widget installed, because the widget never fixed the underlying code. Rather than build another tool overselling automation, ScreenMySite pairs a free scanner that is honest about its limits with manual audits performed by a human reviewer.

If you want a widget that promises instant compliance, ScreenMySite is deliberately not that. In 2025, 983 ADA website lawsuits were filed against sites that already had an accessibility widget installed, and the FTC ordered the largest widget vendor to pay $1M over its automated-compliance claims. Widgets modify the rendered page; complaints cite the code underneath. ScreenMySite scans that underlying code so you can actually fix it. The scanner is free, needs no install, and focuses on e-commerce, where a small set of recurring template issues accounts for most failures.
