CommitCat is offered as a free tool, lowering the barrier to entry for individuals and small teams who need a Git client without the cost associated with some commercial alternatives.
  • Cross-Platform Support
CommitCat is designed to work across multiple operating systems, allowing developers on different platforms to use the same familiar tool for their version control needs.
  • Beginner-Friendly
The tool is positioned to help newcomers to Git and version control by providing a more visual and intuitive way to manage repositories, commits, and branches without needing deep command-line expertise.

CommitCat is designed to be a lightweight Git client that doesn't consume excessive system resources, making it suitable for developers who prefer a lean, fast tool over feature-heavy alternatives.

Possible disadvantages

  • Limited Feature Set
Compared to more established Git clients like GitKraken, Sourcetree, or Fork, CommitCat may lack advanced features such as built-in merge conflict resolution tools, advanced branch visualization, or deep integration with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Small Community and Ecosystem
As a lesser-known tool, CommitCat has a smaller user community, which means fewer tutorials, community-driven plugins, and peer support compared to mainstream Git clients.
  • Limited Visibility and Traction
CommitCat appears to have limited online presence and user reviews, making it difficult for potential users to assess its reliability, maturity, and long-term viability before adopting it.
  • Uncertain Development Activity
It is unclear how actively CommitCat is being maintained and developed. A tool with infrequent updates may fall behind in compatibility with newer Git features or operating system updates.
  • Lack of Enterprise Features
CommitCat may not offer enterprise-grade features such as team collaboration tools, access control integrations, or support for large-scale repository management that organizations often require.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing ScopliDrop and CommitCat.

What makes your product unique?

ScopliDrop's answer

ScopliDrop ties Discord giveaways to growth outside Discord. Entrants complete tasks on 20+ platforms, like subscribing to a YouTube channel or creating an account on your site, and each one gets a referral link. The friends they bring complete the same tasks, and ScopliDrop adds them to your server as they enter. Listed giveaways also reach new people through our public giveaway feed and the ScopliDrop community server.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

ScopliDrop's answer

Your community lives on Discord, and ScopliDrop keeps the whole giveaway there. Entry, winner claims and prize delivery happen in your server. It works both ways. Your members follow your social accounts, and each external entrant ends up as a member of your Discord. Compared with Gleam or SweepWidget, you grow your Discord community and your social accounts in the same giveaway. Compared with GiveawayBot or Giveaway Boat, you add entry tasks on 20+ platforms, referral links, alt account detection and prize codes delivered in private claim tickets.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

ScopliDrop's answer

Businesses and communities that gather their audience on Discord. Game studios run giveaways around a launch, online shops and retailers use them to win followers and signups, and creators on YouTube, Twitch or TikTok use them to turn viewers into server members. Community servers use the referral loop to bring in new members each week.

What's the story behind your product?

ScopliDrop's answer

I was a community manager for several Discord communities. In each one, giveaways kept members engaged, but they brought the business no return: no new followers, no signups, no emails.

ScopliDrop started in April 2025 as a side project to collect emails through those giveaways. It kept growing from there, with entry tasks on 20+ platforms, referral links that bring friends into the server, and a public feed that sends new people to your giveaways. Today it's a growth engine for Discord communities and the businesses behind them.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

ScopliDrop's answer

TypeScript across the stack. Next.js and React power the dashboard and the entry pages, Supabase (PostgreSQL) stores giveaways and entries, and discord.js with hybrid sharding runs the Discord side. PostHog handles product analytics.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

ScopliDrop's answer

  • Sailor Piece
  • Business Game Empire
  • SaveOnPropFirms
  • PokéMadness
