Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Sciwheel and ScholarSail.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

ScholarSail's answer:

University students, academic researchers, and professionals who study as part of their work. What they share is that they have material to learn and retain, not just to file away: exam content, a literature base, a professional certification, a new language. ScholarSail suits people who want to choose their own methods and combine them, such as writing notes, converting them into flashcards, and mapping the concepts out visually, rather than being walked through a fixed course. It is a self-directed study tool, not a classroom or tutoring product.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

ScholarSail's answer:

We would rather describe what ScholarSail does than make claims about other products. Every feature is available on the free plan; Free and Premium differ in monthly AI credits and the model used for AI generation, not in which tools you can use. The tools are built around how memory and study actually work: spaced repetition follows a documented algorithm, review sessions spread topically similar cards apart to avoid blocked practice, and the Memory Palace applies a mnemonic technique with a long research record. Where a feature draws on research, the feature page cites it. Your flashcards, notes, documents, mind maps and to-dos live in one account, so moving from reading to notes to review does not mean moving between apps. It is worth trying for a week to see whether the workflow fits you.

What makes your product unique?

ScholarSail's answer:

ScholarSail brings the tools used across a study workflow into one workspace: a rich text editor for writing, flashcards with spaced repetition, mind maps, a plain-text notes capture, and a Kanban to-do board with task dependencies. The one that stands apart is the Memory Palace. It is a walkable 3D island scene in the browser where you assign flashcards to fixed viewpoints and review them by stepping through the environment, a digital version of the method of loci. The flashcard scheduler is SM-2 with learning and relearning steps, study queues are interleaved by topic rather than served in the order cards were created, and a deck can be printed as physical double-sided cards. AI features (generating flashcards and mind maps from your own text, an in-editor assistant) run on a credit allowance rather than being locked behind a paywall, so every plan has access to every feature.
