A lot more involved but I run a Matrix server on my LAN with the mautrix-discord bridge. Then I have SchildiChat as the client on my phone using [UnifiedPush](unifiedpush.org/) for push notifications via my self hosted [ntfy](ntfy.sh/) server. Source: over 3 years ago
