Savepoint is a free, cross-platform way to keep your games in one place, on iPhone, Android, and the web. Save games to your wishlist and backlog, mark what you are currently playing, beaten, on hold, or set aside, and rate the ones you finish. Discovery is built in: browse new releases, classic games, and picks by genre, with typo-tolerant search. Import your Steam library in a couple of taps. What sets savepoint apart is what it deliberately leaves out. There are no completion percentages over your collection, no streaks, no days-since counters, and no backlog-size warnings. A library is a place you keep games, not a to-do list that judges you for the games you keep.

Savepoint.gg's answer
Gamers with more games than time.
Specifically, people who buy across several storefronts and platforms (Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, Game Pass) and have lost track of what they own, what they meant to play, and what they thought of the ones they finished.
They tend to be adults whose gaming time has become limited and unpredictable, which is exactly why the pressure mechanics in other trackers land badly for them. They are also the sort of people who already keep a Goodreads or Letterboxd account: they enjoy logging and remembering their media, not just consuming it.
Secondary audiences: Steam users specifically, since the Steam import is the fastest way to fill a library, and returning players coming back to a collection they set aside a while ago.

Savepoint.gg's answer
Two things.
First, coverage. Among the major game trackers, savepoint is the one with native iPhone and Android apps and a full web app, all synced. Most alternatives pick a side: Backloggd and How Long To Beat are web only, Stash is mobile only, GG is mobile first. Your library is the same whether you open it on a phone or a laptop.
Second, what it deliberately leaves out. There are no completion percentages over your collection, no streaks, no days-since counters, and no backlog-size warnings. A lot of backlog tools gamify your library into a chore list with scores and progress bars. savepoint treats it as a library: a place you keep games, not a to-do list that judges you for the games you keep.
Around that sit Steam library import, typo-tolerant search that finds the game even when you misspell it, and discovery by new releases, classics, and genre. It is free.
Savepoint.gg's answer
Because you probably game on more than one device, and because you do not need another app telling you that you are behind.
Cross-platform is the practical reason. If you browse games on a laptop but save them from your phone, most trackers make you choose one. Savepoint has native iPhone and Android apps plus full web app.
The no-guilt design is the reason people stay. Backlog tools tend to drift toward guilt mechanics: completion bars, scores out of 100, shame reports, streaks you can break. Savepoint has none of them, on purpose. Statuses are neutral and self-applied (Currently Playing, Beaten, Platinumed, On Hold, Backlog, Wishlist), and nothing in the app measures you against your own collection.
Practical extras: free, Steam library import in a couple of taps, and game data from IGDB.
If you want a tracker that pushes you to finish things, other tools do that well and you should use one. Savepoint is for people who want a calm place to keep games.
Savepoint.gg's answer
Savepoint is built by Adam, a solo developer and lifelong gamer.
It started as a personal problem. Every backlog tracker I tried made my hobby feel like homework: completion percentages, streaks, and a growing pile of "unfinished" games staring back at me. Gaming was the thing I did to relax, and my tracker had quietly turned it into a second job with a progress bar.
Meanwhile books and film had figured this out. Goodreads, Letterboxd, and Fable made it normal to keep a shelf, remember what you thought of something, and find your next one through people you trust. Games had trackers, but most were either web only or built around completion.
So savepoint became the opposite of a to-do list: a calm, cross-platform library where saving a game commits you to nothing. The name is the gaming term. A savepoint is where you come back to.

React Native and Expo, one TypeScript codebase shipping to iOS, Android, and web. NativeWind (Tailwind for React Native) for styling.
Supabase (PostgreSQL and Storage) for the backend, split across two databases: a public game-data catalog and a private user database secured with row-level security. Clerk for authentication. TanStack Query for server state and Zustand for UI state. IGDB as the game data source, synced nightly.
EAS (Expo Application Services) for builds, deployment, and web hosting. Sentry for error monitoring, PostHog for product analytics.
Savepoint.gg's answer
Not applicable. Savepoint is a free consumer app used by individual gamers, not a B2B product, so there are no company or enterprise customers.
Based on our record, Haystack Analytics seems to be more popular. It has been mentiond 2 times since March 2021. Hey HN! I'm Julian, co-founder of Haystack (https://usehaystack.io). Weโre building one-click dashboards and alerts using Github data. While managing teams from startups to more established companies like Cloudflare, my cofounder Kan and I were constantly trying to improve our team and process. But it was pretty tough to tell if our efforts were paying off. Even tougher to tell where we could improve. We tried... - Source: Hacker News / over 5 years ago
