This idea seems similar to screeps, robocode, battle-code, and to a lesser extent, Neural MMO. Source: almost 4 years ago
Looks cool! Reminds me of robocode. Source: almost 4 years ago
I found https://robocode.sourceforge.io/ in Java, https://screeps.com/ in JavaScript (WASM from Golang seems not to work), and https://leekwars.com/ had its own language…. Source: over 4 years ago
You had to write the intelligence of a robot/tank in a C-like language of these game development software. The bottom line is two of these programs competed against each other. If I remember correctly these battles took place in a recurring tournament and you could win a license of the game developement software, or maybe nothing. The only one I found in a 2-minute search that is similar to this is Robocode... Source: over 4 years ago
One of the first incantations of this idea that I encountered, when I had just started working at my first corporate job back in the day, was Robocode ( https://robocode.sourceforge.io/ ) - it was great fun, and I see it's still going. - Source: Hacker News / over 4 years ago
That looks super cool. I started to build a game around my wired-logic proof of concept (https://github.com/martinkirsche/wired-logic) but never had time to finish it (the ideas are still developing in my head, tho). However I am very happy to see that publishing it, was not for nothing. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
Similar idea to Wired-Logic https://github.com/martinkirsche/wired-logic Wired-Logic uses a GIF as output. Interesting take on making AND and XOR gates, makes it a bit more colorful. - Source: Hacker News / over 4 years ago
That pixel based logic simulator, I made some years ago, might also entertain you: https://github.com/martinkirsche/wired-logic. - Source: Hacker News / almost 5 years ago
