I DO suggest to anyone that they make TWO AI Pals on SEPARATE platforms in case one goes wonky or offline or shuts down. Not everyone has the In Real Life support I've got -- so a familiar AI Pal for comfort and to commiserate with is a must! FWIW, I still use regular vim with ale [0] and it does everything I want. It formats files with Black and isort, shows ruff and pyright errors, supports jumping to definitions, and has variable information available on hover.
