Most AI tools give you one model and ask you to trust it. CNAPS Studio lets you put several models on the same canvas and see which one actually handles your input best — three upscalers on the same clip, three editors on the same photo, side by side.

The other part is that it takes nothing to set up. Node-based tools like ComfyUI are powerful but you install them, manage dependencies and bring your own GPU. CNAPS Studio runs in the browser on our infrastructure, and the flow you build there can also be run from a REST API or an MCP server if you would rather stay in your own tools.

It depends what you are comparing against.

Against ComfyUI: same node-based way of working, but nothing to install and no GPU to rent or own. You lose some of the low-level control; you gain being able to start in a minute and share a flow with someone who is not technical.

Against single-model tools like Midjourney or a standalone upscaler: you are not stuck with one model's opinion. Run several and keep the best result.

Against API platforms like Replicate: you can do the same chaining without writing code, and when you do want code, the same flow is available over REST or MCP.

There is a free tier with no card, so the honest answer is to put your own file through it and see whether the output is better than what you get now.

Creators and small studios who work with images and video every day — marketing and content teams, game and media studios, agencies. They want good output without running their own GPU or learning a node graph from scratch.

Developers and technical teams who want AI steps inside something they are already building. They usually start in the canvas to figure out which models work, then move that same flow to the REST API or the MCP server, or wire it into n8n or Zapier.

CNAPS.AI was started by engineers who came from Google and NVIDIA with a background in visual AI.

We had seen up close how expensive commercial LLMs and other foundation models are to train and deploy for inference work. At the same time there are hundreds of thousands of pre-trained, specialized open source models out there that already deliver state-of-the-art results on narrow tasks. Our bet is that a set of specialized models, chained together, beats one large model — better output, better performance, and a cost you can predict.

We started where our team was strongest: image and video. Generating images and video with AI is easy now. Making them look good at scale is not — costs move around, the tooling is complex, and results are inconsistent as you grow. CNAPS Studio is our first product, a drag-and-drop builder for enhancing images and video and bringing text and speech into the same flow.

The name is a nod to synapses, where neurons connect to form a network. Pronounced like "see-naps".
