TrueCert is a skills-verification platform built for developers and the teams that assess them. Instead of trusting a resume line or a years-old certificate, candidates take a short, practical assessment and earn a credential anyone can verify.

The assessments go beyond multiple choice. Ordering, matching, code-completion, and short-answer formats test whether someone can actually do the work, not just recognize a fact, and partial credit means a near-miss is scored fairly. Every result comes with a topic-level breakdown (strong on networking, developing on cost optimization) so the score is actionable, not just a pass or fail.

For employers and recruiting agencies, TrueCert is a screening tool: send candidates a 10-minute practical test before the interview, then verify each result independently through a shareable link. No proctoring, no testing-center friction. For individuals, a passed assessment becomes a verifiable, shareable credential to prove skills to employers.

Assessments span more than 120 titles across 15 categories, including Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Azure, Linux, Python, SQL, and more.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Remoteinterview and TrueCert.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

TrueCert's answer:

Most tools do either screening or credentialing. TrueCert does both, so a passed assessment is both a hiring signal an employer can independently verify and a credential the candidate owns and can reuse. The assessments test application rather than recall, results are checkable without taking anyone's word, and the catalog spans 175+ certifications across 15 categories (DevOps, cloud, AI, databases, office, collaboration, and more), with a free introduction tier and paid assessments from $14.99.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

TrueCert's answer:

Two connected groups. First, developers and technical professionals who want to prove their skills with a credential employers can verify. Second, the employers and recruiting agencies who screen them, teams that want to test candidates before the interview, or map and validate their own team's skills. Strongest fit for DevOps, cloud, and platform roles.

What's the story behind your product?

TrueCert's answer:

TrueCert started from a simple frustration: resumes and years-old certificates are claims, not evidence, and heavyweight proctored exams are expensive and test recall over real ability. We built a lightweight way to prove what someone can actually do, practical assessments that produce a verifiable, shareable credential, so skills can be trusted without a testing center or a leap of faith. Built and operated by idealy AB in Sweden.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

TrueCert's answer:

TrueCert is a browser-based web application with nothing to install. It integrates Stripe for payments, standard OAuth sign-in (Google, GitHub, Microsoft), and issues Open Badges 2.0 credentials with QR-based public verification.

What makes your product unique?

TrueCert's answer:

TrueCert combines two things usually sold separately: practical skills testing and verifiable credentials. Candidates take short, hands-on assessments that go well beyond multiple choice, drag-to-order, matching, multi-select, code completion, predict-the-output, fill-in-the-blank, and scenario-based questions, all with partial credit so a near-miss still scores fairly.

Every result becomes a shareable credential anyone can verify through a public link, no proctoring or testing center required, and each comes with a topic-level breakdown of strengths and weaknesses, so the score is actionable rather than just a pass or fail.
